Just installed new traxxas receiver/ transmitter on sledge. Calibrated/ bind everything and works great. Issue is when I power on esc it flashes green for sometimes 15-20 seconds before going solid green indicating connection with transmitter. Never noticed it taking this long before new receiver. Also noticed, as soon as it powers on flashing green, if I barely touch throttle trigger it instantly connects solid green. Just wondering if this is normal or something not set right? Truck operates just fine with far range distance

I've owned lots of trucks with Traxxas radios. Normally it takes 3-4 seconds then it's good to go. If your truck is driving normally then I would just go with it.

The Sledge is a hot truck. I think my Sledge is a better truck than my Kraton.

You have to calibrate the ESC to your new radio. Zero throttle is not the same on your new Rx/Tx, and the ESC needs to see zero throttle to arm.

Believe this is my main issue, just trying to find correct calibrating process for esc. One i tried holding ez set button down while powering up until red led blinks just puts esc into sport mode. Think I need to try calibration sequence of holding trigger to fill throttle as soon as esc lights green, then reverse

I believe I have seen similar behavior with the XRT. Have you made sure Firmware on your Transmitter/Receiver are up to date? That alone caused me a lot of headache.

Mine does the same thing. The tqi tx has the ability to run multiple cars. With that said, I’ve noticed that if you are going to run a bunch of Traxxas RC’s at the same time, you gotta switch your transmitter on before you switch the rc on that it’s bibded with. Or, the receiver will pick up the other tx. I’ve had it happen multiple times .

It’ll give you a shock when someone’s running your Xmaxx and you cut your sledge rx before the tx and it takes off hauling ass. This happens most though when everyone is getting the right they are running all fired up at the same time.

Getting back to the flashing green if running solo. I credit it to frequencies besides the tx’s that the rx is sorting through. Because just like you said, if you touch the steering controls or throttle the slightest, it stops blinking and turns solid green instantly.

I’ve rebounded and calibrated all my Traxxas electronics to the cars they come with. Multiple times. They all still blink green like this at times.

Not saying you aren’t correct. Just saying I have done this based on the premise. And, depending on where I’m at running, they all will occasionally do this.
