Soooo, I couldnt wait for the beadlocks that i got from charlie to come in the mail, so i went to the LHS and got some, and i will put the on road tires onto the ones i get from him. The only problem with them is they came as a black rim, with a black anodized lock ring. So, I tried the oven cleaner method to de-anodize them. For my first time, i think they came out pretty good.

A rim with some of the rings:

After and all clean:

Finally assembled: Left new wheels, right old wheels

I am extremely happy with how these came out mounted on the truck. Thanks to all for the tutorials on how to de-anodize these things.

GO RCNT!!!!

maybe i missed it, but what kind of tires are thiose?

Nice work officer!! Those wheels make the Slash look awesome!

They Look great, I'm going to have to order some of those black beadlock rings, I like em a lot. That white body looks great, those rims might look good with white rings. You should try that with one of em, easy to strip the paint. If you aren't going to paint em, you should polish them, that would probably look the best. Aw come on, any RC guy worth his weight in gold should know that those are Dirt Works tires!

what did you use to strip them?

yea i agree with charlie, you should polish them. or at least hit them with some nu finish.

Thanks guys, I just figured out what I'm going to do with the beadlocks in the mail. I'm going to cut them, and decrease their width by about half, then put on some proline dirt works buggy tires, and just use them for everyday use, so i dont have to chop any of my good painted bodys, just the basher.

I thought about polishing them, but i have never had any good luck in the past trying that. And I'm not going to take the tires off the rims untill i wear them out. Too much pain involved with these damn itty bitty beadlock screws. But i will probably pick up a mamba max setup tommorrow.

I dunot know, but I would guess he used oven cleaner

If you want to make that slash scream like a little girl, I have a Mamba 6900 motor sitting around here somewhere.

I'm going to stick with a low KV motor until i get some lipo's for it. I dont think the 1320mah 3s i have for the rc18 will do much good with this bad boy. lol. I'm just gona see how much time i can squeeze out of the 4200mah 7cell hump pack.

The 7 cell hump pack will do great with the brushless system.

I have an 8 cell 4500 nimh battery that will do good with the mamba system as well, and if you'd like to use it just let me know. I forgot I had it until I ran across it in a box today as I was organizing the hobby room.

i hope all of my poker luck thats been holding out on me is saving itself for the RCNT lotto, I'm having whole rig envy, not just shoe envy.
