Hey. I already have the 2.8 badlands. I feel i need bigger. Did someone here ever tried 3.8 tires on their slash ?

That would be too much. Strc make 14mm adapters so you can if they clear. Back in the day they put 2.8 tires on e
3.2 wheels that would be better as you have more inches but not the weight with it.

Why ? Some ppl says 2.8 is to much too.

You would really have to monitor the temps. She will get hot.
Of course and I would change gearing.

Is your Slash chassis the high or low center of gravity version?

If the LCG, you can change it out to the HCG version and gain an inch of ground clearance.
I already have the hcg. I have wider arms, rear shocks in front and i changed the shocktower mounting position so i have a pretty hcg. I lift the body alot and wheels looks small lol.

2.8 is for the 1/10 stampede size trucks. 3.8 is tmaxx and revo sized tires. Although they claim those trucks are 1/10, they are a little under 1/8 if memory is correct.

I know but can't see why it will not work. I know some ppl did it but its hard to find information about the driving. With short course chassis and wider arms my truck is almost a 1/8 right now.

But the arms and driveline is still 1/10 and 48p.

The other day I lost a wheel nut while doing donuts in the driveway. The car shot left and the tire and wheel, in slow motion, popped up to about eye level, hit the ground and shot into the side of my house at about 40mph.
It may very well be the funniest thing i've ever watched an R/C do.
I am laughing now even when I type this.

3.8s are too heavy and wide. Heck, when i put 2.8s on mine i blew a trans/diff, blew a motor and slipper clutch. and the front inner side walls would rub on the arm if turning to full lock
It was the narrow or wide badlands ?

On a more serious note, I think if you mount 3.8s to your Slash it will spend most of its time upside down. I also don't think you can gear a Slash down enough to make up for the bigger wheels.
My slash its pretty hard to flip because its freaking wide lol
Stock gearing is 21/83 48p
I currently run 16/83-16/90 with 2.8 badlands and the motor is less hot than stock slash

I can go down as far as 14/90

Didn't realize it was a 2wd. I've built many freak trucks out of those. My recommendation is to take it all the way with a Castle 1415 motor and a 4s battery. If you're going to build a freak truck then let it be a freak. What body do you plan on using?

Its not my priority I'm thinking longterm. I think ill stick with the stock body and trim it more. Its already lifted quit a bit. Its a bit odd but i like the protection this body gives me. Or i can trim it more and more. I still have room before i need to cut the fenders.

And yea I'm thinking about 4s but I'm not sure. Yea i like to be freak a bit but i dont want to break everything after every ride. I'm only 2s now so speed is a huge factor right now when it comes to break things. The fact i like about 4s is that i dont need to put a 4s battery to improv performance. I love to know that i have room for more speed. I could go 4s and gear down alot so i dont have to worry about heat. I'm thinking about it. 4s is expensive too. But 3.8 tires too xd

I have converted my slash to a 6s spectrum 150 amp firma esc and 2700 kv motor and it handles it really well except for only the rear differentials.
I also blew apart the stock tires for fun to that I could get some pro-line belted tires.

You wold want to run a 1/8 monster truck body so the the tires fit and look correct.
You would also need hex adapters

You could also use wheel spacers
But I have never seen as slash with a wider than stock stance so I dunno
Try it, see what you think
