@Chubaka - you were interested in how these are...

Checking out the Exotek CVD's this morning. I was worried about the set screws locking on the diff shafts where the holes are, but the set screws are a tad bigger than the holes. So they kinda lock into them slightly. Not the best situation, but I suppose it is the best way to get a nice secure fit of the cups to the shafts. Ideally, diff shafts without the holes would be best, but this works.

As for machining quality - these are bad f'n ass man. I am not easy to impress in this area of my expertise, and wow, these parts are high grade components. Very, very impressed.

They articulate nice and smooth too. And they even come with an extra set of pre-loctited set screws for the outboard universal, which I will likely never see again after I put them in my drawer organizer. Bottom line - worth every penny!

These come pre-assembled as seen, but it's nice they show you how to assemble them anyway since I like to take things apart and assemble myself.

Yeah, those things looks serious af! :)
Let me put it this way - I have never been more impressed with a set of axles. I wish they made these for every vehicle, because the Granite needs these for sure.

Printed a mount for the Pro-Line body mount. I added a couple degrees angle to it to better match the hood profile, so the nuts won't have much of a gap at the front.

I also got the trans all assembled with the new Hot Racing 56t/18t spur and pinion.

When I got that done, I figured I might as well keep on going, so I temporarily installed the control arms, carriers, turnbuckles, the Exotek CVD's, and the wheels and tires.

I checked the wheelbase since I made a ton of changes to the front end, and it came out right around 13".

I kinda placed the body over it, but I don't have it cut out yet. But it looks to be lined up with the wheels perfectly.

That's enough for today. Too much pain to continue. I think I overdid it 😟

I am going to make sure it has a nice foam bumper. Hopefully that helps. I like to think of the 3d printed parts as "crumple zones" 😉

Molotow chrome paint pens showed up. I wish my eyes were better, but it's not going too terrible. These look better in person. The camera really shows all.

Oh, I dyed the chassis black as well.

And I ordered and installed the RPM rear bumper/wheelie bar mount. What a difference! Much sturdier design!

@WickedFog I like it, the black makes it look less toy like in this case. :thumbs-up:
Yeah, I agree. Not a fan of a colored chassis. Eventually this will likely get an Exotek chassis, but for now, the black looks better I think. Might do the body in black as well.

Really diggin those driveshafts. May have to steal them for my toy story build.

The car is coming along great.

Got the '67 Mustang body trimmed and holes marked and slightly reamed for our stash build. Also printed up some rear mounts for the Pro-Line body mount kit to angle the mount back 5° to better match the window profile. I also lowered the mount about 5mm. Gonna finish sanding the edges today and hopefully start on some masking.

Already got the front dialed in. Front body mount is tilted farward 2° to match the hood profile a little better.
