Slash 4x4 issue

I just took my brand new slash 4x4 platinum out for its first voyage today and i was having and issue with it. In order for me to get it to move i had to give it a boot to get it rolling then it would take off. I have tried reprogramming the esc to the throttle endpoints and it still needs to be rolling to get it to move, i am out of ideas on whats going on. Any input at all would be helpful

What battery? If lipo what is the c rating?

Rob, once rolling does it run normally? If so, sounds like an extreme case of motor cogging. You've probably already thought of this, but is anything binding anywhere that would cause it?

+1 for HPIguys post. if it runs normally after geting it rolloing thats eactly what it sounds like. Is this slash brand new as in you just took it out of the box or brand new as in its brand new to you? If its brand new just out of the box and youve programmed the end points and set the ESC setting correctly and it still has that problem I would take it down to your LHS where you bought it and have them go over it....if they have the same problem with it then Id exchange it.

brand new as in brand new out of the box, i slapped my spektrum reciever in it and programmed the esc and now i have to kick it to get it to move. once its moving its fine, but if i come to a complete stop i have to boot it again

Rob, if it's new then I'd either return it to the shop it was purchased at, or as mentioned, call Traxxas support.

problem solved, reset the parameters on my DX3R Pro and reset the model, re bound and now it works just fine. Thanks for all the suggestions
