Hello,
New to site and RC world.
I have a slash 4x4 that is making a loud noise on the front end when the wheels are on the ground. Sounds fine if you hold it up in the air.
Where should I start?

Welcome! Open up the differential, check the bearings and gears. If the bearings are gritty feeling, or aren’t smooth, or even seized, replace them.

Welcome to RCT. We'll like Pug said it's the front diff. Probably have a broken gear. Is it a new slash from the factory?

As mentioned, it may be the diff, ring gear, front pinion, driveshaft, bearings, or axles. Take the wheels off, check the bearing on the outside and inside of the carrier. Remove and check the axles. Take the front bulkhead off and remove the diff. Give the diff bearings a good spin to make sure they spin freely. If the ring and pinion look ok, pull the diff apart and check the spider gears.

It's one of those ☝️
