Hi, newbie RAW, from London
Alpha recommend shims on their engine after run in?
Advise please:)
Also is the default LSN position always flush with the puller?
The carb out of the box with the Alpha has the LSN about 3mm in

I've never heard of that before. Usually on the nitro engines that I broke in and ran, I never added shims.

I know of a nitro guru that i can ask for ya.:D

And that is not me....lol. However, from what I have seen the only time I have ever added head shims is on a few engines when I went up in nitro content. I have never heard of Adding shims after break in. Sounds strange to me.

Thanks for the replys, further info agreed that an increase in combustion chamber size (by the shims) could be used to go up in nitro content (30%),
So not necessary really, the question arose going through the Alpha engines website FAQ.

On the question of the LSN carb setting, if anyone knows the default for the Alpha club racer 21 engine that would be helpful, it came out of the box screwed in about 3mm (not flush with the puller) and a local dealer reckons the LSN has been changed
