Hello guys, youve recently helped me do some big upgrades on my scx 10 iii.

I am uaing the flysky g7p transmitter and r7p receiver. Very nice controllers and options. Now i got everything almost dialed in, last is the winch. I bought a module so i can use the bumper mounted winch off my transmitter so i dont have to use the little one that came with the winch. It works its being ran off a ubec for higher voltage. Now i binded it to the TR1 button which is a 3 way button. My issue is the winch stays running in one direction till i center it. I've been trying to make this button or use another button as a momentary button.

When i press the button it activates forward or reverse and when i release it stops. And vice versa for the other side. Now with the 3 way I'm not sure this can be achieved but is any of the other buttons capable of this? I've tried seeing if i can use mixing and stuff but maybe i dont understand how.

Again the winch works properly i just want it as a momentary instead of a hold till centered to neutral. Thank you

This is TR1

I'm not sure how that winch works but they are usually just 360° servos, as opposed to 120° or 180° for steering. Which means neutral is the default and each side would be forward/rev like you described. i.e. seems normal.

The switch you took looks to be a 3 position switch, the docs are not clear on that? If that's the case you should be able to get have fwd, neutral, & reverse. You might have to trim it out and center it.

You could also use VR2 or SW3, which might be a bit easier just because they are a bit bigger.

I've played a little bit with mixing and I'm far from an expert. From my limited understanding is you need two channels. Get each one setup, the set a switch or button to mix the two channels according to your needs. Like throttle and steering on a plane. You can set it up to add throttle when you bank hard to keep the nose up.

What I don't know is if you can assign two switches to the same AUX channel?

If you want to mix them, I "think" you would need to set up one channel for forwards on a button/switch and another for reverse. Each one could be a push button. Again I "think" you can use the end point adjustment to negate the direction you don't want.

That's what I did for my TRX4 for the locker servos. It still doesn't work as good as the factory, but I have a much better radio now.

Hi thanks for the reply!

The winch works great fwd reverse and neutral on my 3 pos switch. However these switches hold there position in the programming so if i press fwd and release the winch keeps going fwd till i press rev too put it into neutral. What id like to know is if this remote can make that 3 way switch momentary so when i hit fwd it winches fwd and when i release it stops right away and not keep running

Which is why i thought maybe channel mixing could get me this somehow

Thanks!

I have the FS-GT5 and that I checked. It's not as fancy and I cannot assign function to switches by channel. However, I confirmed the behavior of the push button (channel 3) goes between full one way then full the other way.

The 3-way switch describes the behavior you are looking for. It's full one way, then neutral, then full the other way consistent with the switch position. The other option, which might be cool or be pain in the butt, is the dial. They are analog and control how much it goes in each direction. The down side might be finding neutral?

Anyway I would try using the 3-pos switch. I think that will solve the problem.

If there's not an option in the radio to set that switch to momentary, you'll have to use something else... Or get used to it :)
