Servo's Speed or Torque

hey i need a new steering servos fo r my Lx comp. do i need a speed servo or torque servo?

You want something with at least 100oz of torque and something quick. Many people use a Hitec 645 its plenty strong just seems a tad slow for me. The JR 650 is same power and quicker then the hitec, both are about $50. I have used both and oped for an Airtronics 358 200 oz .10sec about $100

thanks for that. had me first crash into a fence and garage and broke the aluminium steering knuckle and the servo i had is rooted so yeah

I use A futaba high speed high torque S9450 For the steering and a
Hitec HS-5945-MG for the throttle/brakes that way if you do a steering servo you have a spare high torque on the car already and your brakes/throttle are very resposive to say the least.

I'm running a 645MG for steering and a 625MG for throttle/brake on mine.

your in australi, look for bluebird servo $aud55 for same speed as hitech 945mg and 925mg

Matt when your looking at servos they arent always honest, check at what voltage they were tested at, alot are tested at 6 or 7.2 volts which is not fair when hitec use 4.8 to test theres more power more grunt, make sure your compairing apples with apples I've brought cheap servos and had them go in acouple of days

yeh the ones I've been looking at are at 4.8 and 6v they have both so i've just been comparing them but thanks for the info. turns out i can't even find the blue bird one.
