so I'm looking around at servos, what determines the 4.8v or 6v power running to the servo? does the new merv or revo tqi rx have the capabilities to put out 6v to the servo's? just ordered 2xhitec HS-82MG MICRO servos for my merv so i have a backup cuzx the stock one just crapped it.

With the vxl esc's??? If so, I believe, dont quote me though :D that they have a 6.0v internal bec, so a servo needing 6v to give its full torque, would get it.

yeh i got the tqi 1/16 revo and also have a 1/10 revo which will soon have the tqi radio gear.

i think mine is the vxl 3m on the merv, will the tqi rx run 6v thought to the servos?

The mERVs all output 6 V. All of the larger Traxxas with RX packs also output 6V.

awesome. just looking at the stats of the Hitec HS-82MG servo and for the price seems great, iv bought 2 so ill have a spare

All of the larger Traxxas with RX packs also output 6V.

That's correct, if you're using a 6v pack, but if someone was to use a 2s lipo rx pack (w/ the nitro) the servos would get the full 7.4v. If someone wanted the runtime of a lipo, without having to convert to HV servos, they would have to get an external BEC. The rx doesn't change the voltage, the servos will get what ever the voltage is of your rx pack.
