I'm just getting back into nitro . Get a RC8 and a revo for bashing, Get all new gear, and now I'm seeing how much the 8 scale electric buggys are taking off with the advancements of batteries these days. Decided to also get into some of that. I purchased the losi 8ight e. with a 14.8V 5000mAh 4S 25C LiPo. Question is. do i need to get any special high voltage servo for my steering. or will any High torque, high speed servo do.

Usually the ESC has a battery eliminator inside of it to eliminate the need for a separate RX battery. This prevents the RX from going up in smoke. This also eliminates the need for the high voltage servos. You should be okay going with just a good quality high torque servo.
