After months of testing (and a slightly concerned look from my wallet), I’ve finally cracked it… I successfully converted my crawler to full self-driving AI mode AND integrated voice control. No transmitter. No inputs. Just vibes, bad decisions, and apparently now it listens better than my truck ever listened to my radio.
Running a custom setup using a Raspberry Pi, onboard gyro stabilization, and some very questionable code I definitely didn’t fully understand… plus I ditched LiPos entirely and switched over to a DeWalt battery for what I can only describe as “aggressively unnecessary torque.”
Current features include:
Next step is teaching it how to win comps so I can sit in a lawn chair, yell commands at it, and pretend I did something. If this thing starts asking for updates or downloading new skills overnight, I’m unplugging it.
Anyone else messing with AI and voice control setups, or am I about to get a call from Skynet?

Current features include:
- Fully autonomous line selection (sometimes smarter than me, which hurts a little)
- Obstacle avoidance… unless it gets confident, then all bets are off
- Voice commands like “crawl,” “reverse,” and “don’t roll it” (success rate varies
) - Self-correcting when it screws up, which is more than I can say for myself
- Enough raw power from the DeWalt pack to probably tow my real truck if I gear it down enough
