I'm annoyed at what I paid for my 3T USB3.0 seagate a few years back. At least when I bought the 6T, it wasn't much more than I paid for the 3T...

Not to spin off on a total tangent, what makes a NAS drive different from a typical desktop drive?

There are a few differences but in a nutshell the differences are the addition of designed to be powered on 24/7, vibration sensors, and longer life.

I see. Mine go to sleep after so long and my external is only being spun up when I'm writing to it. My external 6T is a clone of my internal 6T in my media server. Can't recall if I let the internal one sleep or not... all I do know is if one dies, it will get replaced immediately because I don't want to have to redo my entire dvd/blu-ray library again.
