6 mo old GS storm w/ GS 21 engine
Artronics 94358 steering servo
new jr xs3 radio w/synth reciever
new extra Novak 2675 synth reciever
new proline tires

I just put in a new plug and batteries and it strted on the first pull. can't wait to flog it on my tmaxx track (what's a tmaxx?) all day tomorrow!! Yeah SCORE

That is a pretty good deal. The XS3 goes for 200ish new by itself. Then the receiver is another 70 and the steering servo is what 70-80? Tires are $60 for 4 of them. You kicked ass on that deal. Congrats.

Any plans to race?

:w00t:

Now lets see you trick that pig out and get some SICK air!

After all, buggies do best at 50 being launched from insane jumps!

Its about time you got a REAL RC.
Your as bad as the rest of us. You now have a Maxx, Savage, AE GT, AE MT, and a Storm, Did I miss anything? Next your going to tell us you gave it all up and paved the back yard for your new NTC3.

Let us know how you like it.

Thanks guys, I'm thrilled. Yeah Ed, you forgot my AE T2, my rc plane collection and my dirt bike. Its getting stupid now, I could do nothing but maintain my poop 24/7. Some stuff may have to go.

I'm having an rc/bbq/beer swilling party tonight (drinking and driving are required). I'm expecting about 10 maxxes, 2-3 stadium trucks, and now my Storm. The Hacker brushless guys are supposed to bring out some electric planes and helis. It should be an entirely sick affair. I'll post some pics monday if I can make bail....

The party was a success, no one left until their car was busted. Here are some photos of the track and action:

It took a while to get the Storm working. I had a radio glitch that was cured with the Novac rx. Then I was frustrated with a lack of low-end with the GS 21 engine. Coming out of a slow corner, it would just go blaaaa, then gradually hit hard. No amount of needle tweeking helped, so I think it is just the tall gearing. It definitley got worse as it got hot.

It seems strange to me that so much of the engine is covered, just the top fin hanging out. doesn't it get too hot?

Is it possible to get a 2 speed trans? My tmaxx pulls out of corners much harder, at least until the storm comes into the powerband. Is the GS engien known for top end tuning? I might need lower gearing or a Picco .26 for more grunt.

YOU COULD try stiffer clutch springs, or maybe 1 down on the front clutch bell - but you will lose some top end

Hey Scott, remove that Traxxas air filter from the T-Maxx and install a real 1/8 buggy air filter. That filter will hinder air flow to a .21 engine. I suggest any of the Ofna, Mugen, or Kyosho .21 buggy filters. If you do a lot of off-roading and a filter with a pre-filter is much desireable like this Kyosho one:

Kyosho Filter

Yeah, I had to use that filter for the weekend. I'm going to the lhs today for a filter and a bunch of other stuff. slothy, I dont know the exact temp, but even when running blubbery rich water still boiled on the head.

Also, a couple minor flips bent my shock towers down in the front. Is there a brace or stronger tower available?

Hmm... you just gave me a great idea...
My inground pool in the backyard is oval shaped and if i drain the water i could use it as a kind of challenging oval track. Hmm... :wasted: :egad:

Humboltblazer, thanks for the link. I need a good filter like that for my cybermaxx too. I have damaged 2 engines from loosing the filter, all because I am too cheap to get the $40 OS one.

Scummer, I used to ride a yamaha 60 in a drained pool, it was a hoot...

Thanks Humboldt, I ordered 2 of those filters. I went to that Horizon link for the shock towers too. The pro and dynamite ones don't look a whole lot stronger than stock, are they thicker or is it the 7075 material?

Yes as I mentioned the Storm Pro and Dynamite shock towers are 7075 aluminum and I would say are a good 1/8 inch thicker than the stock (soft) 6061 aluminum.

what is your address?

I would love to run around the inside of a drained pool!!!
I am there!
I would love to see how high i could get rounding the walls.
I imagine you would take it slow and slowly accelerate up the wall each lap. The question is what speed would you have to be going to stick to the wall at a 90% angle.
Man WHAT FUN I AM ON MY WAY OVER!
