what an odd title, but it actally sums up my post very well lol
scaletra... do you use it? you shuold be.

Scaletra is this awesome little app made for RC crawling nerds like me who can’t remember how far we walked five minutes ago—perfect for someone like me who thinks 100 feet feels like a mile. It uses GPS to track your trail walks in real time, logs the distance, elevation, and even shows a map of where you’ve been. You hit “start,” crawl around, snap a few pics of your rig being majestic, and when you’re done, it saves the whole adventure. You can share it with friends, show off your routes, and check out other people’s trails too. It's

for tiny trucks and big kids with short attention spans. Super handy, and it makes our trail walks feel way more legit.

nah they were a vendor at BTC, talked to the creater for a bit, one of the dudes there turned out was the number 1 user of it or some such lol the scaletra guys were tripping out to meet him lol
I'm still learning to use the app, I'm sure their making bank off of the data, like pokemon go did, but its really useful, and i dig it i hope someone else does.
theres challenges you can make and goals you can set,

i used it to see about battery life lol,
plopped in a full pack, ran till it cut off, looked say 1 battery = 1 mile of crawling, up down over around off trail, its a decent average, of course its not exact but its useful, i tend to pack all my crawler batteries wheni go cause i dont like dying on the trail, now i can tell my hike is gonna be 3 miles, that means i need 4 batteries to account for having fun lolol

its been pretty cool and i think ima keep using it

Resurrecting this thread.
Just learned about it and wondering what are everyone's thoughts after a few months of use?

Maybe just a regular fitness app on my watch will do the same thing.
Not into the social media aspects of this or bashmaps etc

I don't use any of these for rc. But I am in the backcountry a lot. Hiking, snowshoeing, atv, jeep, bike or skiing.....most of the time not on trails. A lot of the time it's for maple sugaring. So I track where the sugar lines run. I was using an app called track my trails, and it was good. But lately I've been using just my Samsung health tracker. It works good and can drop your "track" onto a Google map.

I know there's better products that my buddies use for hunting. But I think those are all paid apps.

i use it often, i really dig it, i like seeing the visual of my trail, it looks cool often as well. 9 outta 10 from me still

edit to add
i have bashmaps, but its a dead app in my area. i honestly havent checked out much of the social aspect of scaletra, i just use it to track my trails, and which truck ran. its kinda cool to see that

i can go to a truck, see what trails i ran it on, and see how many scale miles I've put on it both that run and in total.
it tracks the mileage of the vehicle. so i can say hell i had to swap the trans out at 120k miles or replaced the shocks at 75k miles. nah it doesn't do anything but makes me smile and thats all i want lololol

i just wish i could remember to use it more often.
i forget to turn it on more often than i use it or ill remember half way down the trail
