Or reviews about the truck

Hi JohnSampson,
All of my favorites are mostly on YouTube.
http://m.youtube.com/results?q=Savage XL unboxing

Just type into the Search function there, what you want to see...
Ah, within reason, or any search engine will take you to other discussion Forum's and even to several threads here as well.

Please have fun...

I haven't heard many complaint's of the Savage X, of any consequence to me.
Other than checking every screw after unboxing, and then Locktite/Thread Lock Blue, any main screws, not connected to the actual motor block.
Just break it in correctly, and then

Enjoy... & Repeat over...

Not aware of any XL complaints.

Hi EXTREME1,
How's it going? d--b
I replied to your request when I figured out how.

I've found my Savage X stock servos to be adequate so far. (Not an XL though)
If/when they go, I'll simply swap them out. Not sure what brand or size yet.
I'm sure there will be several great suggestions here, when that time comes.
As far as working on my Savage X, it's definitely Not difficult. Everything is laid out nicely, and the engine can be easily removed, simply with unscrewing 4 screws from below the engine mount. I think it's a great car/truck with plenty of pleasant tinkering for those who wish to tune and upgrade. A plus with the ease of part replacement, it also makes a Bashers repair, a delight as well.
Minus the cost of thee very accessible replacement parts.

Hi EXTREME1,
I'd save the money you would spend on an XL and buy a couple of spare shells to paint and customize with decals/stickers, for the new Savage X instead.

The two biggest complaints I've heard about the XL is the engine is hard to tune and doesn't hold a tune very well and the stock steering servos are weak. I own an X myself though so I'm only repeating what I've heard a lot of others say.

yeah thats the same stuff i've heard.think i'm gonna go with the savage 4.6 x.do you know if the lrp .32 will fit?figure i'll get the 4.6 x and when it goes south i'll replace it with a lrp

I've owned both the X and the XL. I sold my X not long after I got my XL. Not because it was a bad truck. I just prefer the XL because of the longer wheelbase and wider stance. Also the 3 speed transmission and factory aluminum clutch shoes. The 5.9 engine is hit and miss. Some have good luck with it some don't. The servos are crappy. Both of them went out within a month. As it sits right now mine has the LRP .32 and a Savox 1256 TG servo for steering and a Traxxas 2056 WP servo for throttle and brakes. I absolutely love this truck and do not regret getting it and selling the X. Both trucks are great fun and super tough. But for me the XL with the longer wheelbase and wider stance and 3 speed is what I prefer.

tower hobbies is running a promo the 4.6 x is $456 and i'll get an extra $50 off with free shipping if ordered by nov 30 so looks like i'll be getting it for lil over $400 new can't beat it.thanks.i will post pics. when i get it.can't wait to bash it....
