Hi, I'm building my Savage SS from the kit, it has been a great experience but i feel I'm stuck at this point.
I'm at the clutch installation point, and i need to install the flywheel and the clutch, the thing is i am not able to push the flywheel all the way up and no matter how hard I'm tryng it is not going up, I'm attaching some pictures please let me know will it tighten more or this is enough, i have a savage x 4.6 i compared and saw that there was no gap between the engine and the flywheel in it, so I'm a bit worried..

also please advice me how i can push it all the way forward to the engine.
thanks in advance

Looks normal to me. It does not have to be all the way up against the engine. It is riding on the conical so that is as far as it will go. I would not worry about it. Nice a clean... remeber it like that....will never be that clean again...lol

thanks a lot, i will try and setup my clutch now... thats a relief

I had to put vice grpis on the fly wheel and just a small socket and wrench to tighten mine down just a little bit more, because when i tried to tighted down my clutch bell it wouldnt spin freely when the screw was tightened all the way.

I use a towel wrapped around it and a big set of pliers to hold it while i tighten the nut.

Yah prob will invest in a flywheel tool. Never had problems with the piston stopper though. Maybe just been lucky, all these years.

Remove the glow plug and fill the cylinder with oil. Replace the plug with an old or burned out one.
It's hydro locked so you can loosen or tighten. Drain the oil and put the good plug back in.
