Ok, my savage 4.1 wasn't shifting into second gear, it was tuned properly, it ran very nice, top speed was only 20mph, so I wanted to get it to shift into second gear, so I watched a video on YouTube of how to do it, when I adjusted the screw I wanted to go test it out so I brought it oudside and put the roto start to it and try starting it, nothing happens the roto start spins but the piston doesn't.. It's an older truck I think 1 or 2 years

not sure about the savage but i know on my t maxx i had the same problem and the one way bearing needed to be changed

Try pulling out the shaft for the owb and wiping it off. I have to do that once and a while

Ok, to get the OWB out, do I have to take the whole engine off? I'm using blue thunder 20% fuel

I just pull the roto start cover carefully pull the shaft out so nothing moves in the engine wipe it off and slide it back in. If anything moves in the engine u will have to pull the back plate. All can be done with engine in just move gas tank and exhaust. Takes me less than 5 min. It usually takes enough oil of shaft that u can get it started after a few try's

I have a long tool I can reach from the back but I also used a cheep little Allen key to do it as well without removing the engine.

Good tools for any hobby or maintenance work are a must. It's hard to buy them all at once, but buy what you can when you can afford it. You won't be sorry.

Any Allen key that comes with the veh will work

Ya gotta have the right tool to make the job easier. Just ordered a dynamite tool kit. Hopefully it is not to much of a PC of junk

Had the exact same problem turn out a little piece in the OWB was missing so I had to buy another then it worked great

So I got a new OWB and put it on but the engine still does nothing
