Good choice IMO, I've only heard of one person who didn't like his savage. He was a Retard and didn't put it together right or something lol, I can't remember but he did something really stupid so he didn't like his savage.

lol
awesome man!!
i can't wait i want the savage now!!!

you can't go wrong with a savage... It has been proven tough I have only broke four parts on my savage and I have had it for a year. I bash at least twice a week, and I dont baby my truck.

My LHS owner said"i sell more Savages than anything else, and people don't bring them 2 me to fix like the dozens of traxxas trucks, they all want to install hop-ups."

olds what headache did your maxx give you cos mine was a great truck,
if you bash your savage hard enough like anything it will break saying that I've only bent one shock in around 25 outings this year and that was only cos a screw came loose

You name it, I broke it.

The maxx just didn't have enough power for me. Once I converted it to a 21, it was just a PITA to keep it going. The only stock part that I had on the truck was a shock tower and a receiver case. Everything else was aftermarket.

I just got tired of dumping money and time into it. Since I couldn't really afford the best parts, I got what I could afford. In the end, there were a lot of things that I could have done different from the start, but it was an expensive learning experiance none the less. I probably spent around $800 on upgrades over the course of the maxx's life.

With my savage, I spent $200 on the roller, used the 21 and electronics I had in the maxx, then I put about another $200 into it right away and I have broken very little since. The only parts I've broken was a hub carrier upright. I drive it just like my maxx and it has held up a lot better.

I agree that you can break anything on any truck. But side by side, maxx vs savage, I spent a lot less and break a lot less now that I own the savage. I go out, bash for about 2 hours or so and come home with a working truck. The days that happened with the maxx were few and far between.

oh i thought you meant something unsual  lol

i to have broken many parts on the t-maxx but the only upgrade i made was ally servo mounts as i found that maxx parts are very cheap on ebay the reason i made the switch to the savage was me and a bashing buddy where out doing backflips off our ramp he had done loads of jumps backflips front flips and some awfull landings and never broke a single thing first jump i did with my maxx i cracked the crank case on my brand newly installed 21 and i said thats it following week i sold my maxx and all my spares for 500quid and bought the savage 25 rtr wich I've only bent one shock shaft on I'm very pleased with it i intend to switch to extended tvps soon see if it handles a bit better

yea well guys i havent orderd the savage yet, i was going to do it tonight, or tomorrow, but i was running my xtm x-c today, and after breaking the pull start 3 times, and ghetto rigging it with kite string, fule was spiting out of every where!!! i was just getting realy frustrated with everything as you all probly no this hobby can make you very mad, so now I'm scared i dont want to buy an expencive truck even though it has a rottor start, and have it break, i dont even bash that much, i drive around my yard, and dirt bike tracks, i guess I'm just feeling a little uneasy about getting it now.

insperation is needed to keep me going-

thanks-

roto start is super tough i dought you would break it just make sure if it locks stop immediately and unlock the motor but i never have any trouble just put it on crank it over and away she goes first time every time the savage is tough if you just mainly bash in the yard its unlikely you will break anything

yea thats such a relife hearing that i was ify on the rotto start, but what do you mean by lock, and unlocking the motor?

thanks-

just make sure when you prime the motor you dont flood it if you do you will know it the roto start wont turn remove it or it will drain the battery really quickly then undo the glow plug insert the roto start give it a quick blast any excess fuel should be ejected replace plug and it should fire straight away.it might do this when you break in the motor if your not confident of doing the break in I'm sure your lhs will do it for you but its really simple on the savage

With roto start you will never have to worry about pulstarters again, what a hassel those are lol. If you bash just around the yard and sometimes on BMX tracks it is unlikely you will break anything. The Savage SS is one of the most cost effective trucks out there. It just doesn't break even when you beat the piss out of it. The savage is definetely the way to go, no question.

i think a savage is more than worth the money.

i dont have 1. but i've been very impressed by them.

our 1st club race, in the big block truck race. all kinds came and started, but when the final tone went. only trucks that were still circulatin on our tough track...savages. 1 MGT was holdin on 4 dear life out there amongst them but was last to fall w/45sec left...then it was only savages.

very nice truck in my mind.

http://thewarf.com/ryan/RC/RCvids/mixedbag.wmv good dose of 1.

yea I'm glad theres a truck out there thats "above and beond" thats a wicked cool video of too ult, one of the best real life races I've seen with out all that fancy video work, just real track time were'd you get that from?

my trusty (but presently broken) dv field camera. (i'm dreadin the bill). if i was serious and brought out somethin nicer and just intent on shootin the whole day. then throwin in lots of post production, we'd really have somethin courtesy of my film degree. but w/o all the fluff.

knock off the end of the link, and ur in my site and can grab the rest of the videos.

its a nice truck, i like it.

ohhhhh i see yea man thats wicked cool i can't wait to get mine!!
i go to a technical school BLUE HILLS! and i take Elecronics, and we have this go cart thats powerd by 2 car batt. that we race in some plymoth races, and as soon as i get my savage were taking the car out to the running track and I'm racing it i hope to get it on film, ill post it and show you somtime after x-mas. i swear ill crush that car so bad I've seen it,and its fast but the acceleration is VERY BAD! and I'm telling my class mates I'm scared ill lose, but i'll defently put it to shame hopfuly i can win some money placing bets!! lol

ill take pics of the electric car next shop week too its prety cool looking!!

thanks-

Dude,
I think the Savage is well worth the money.
There is a lot of aftermarket support for them. As with the Tmaxxes. Never saw a tmaxx run, but what I have read on them...
What other cars do ya have? What kind of surface are you wanting to run on?
I love my Savage. Hillclimbing, rough terrain, grass... But for all around bashing, I love my buggy! :devious: If ya haven't got one and ya got a decent surface to run on try one of these http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/145601.asp They are about twice as fast as the Savage, cheaper, and tough as nails. :D
Not putting down the Savage. I've spent as much money on both cars on upkeep.
The 2 best cars I have. Just need to look at what terrain you have and what kind of money ya want to spend.

yea i hear ya man, but i gotta stick with the savage i already orderd it anyways, well my mom did lol well "SANTA" did, or at least i hope she did, shes not telling me so I'm in the dark. but i think she did, yea well since day one, when i wanted to get a hpi dash, way back then when i was new to rcing i wanted the savage 21 so I'm getting her big sister 25 even tho that buggy does look sweet! i have a xtm x-c with the 18 it is AWESOME but the pull start sucks!!! does the bugggy realy go twice as fast? thats crazy!

After running the X-C you will be pleasantly suprised with the savage.

You can't compare apples and oranges, but I never... seriously NEVER ran the X-C after I got the savage.. not once.. it just collects dust :D

The savage 2-6 times a week anywhere from 20 minutes to 3 hours it's always running. If could handle the X-C, the Savage will be like well...plug and play lol..
