oh man that gives me so much hope for the savage!!! yea man seriously rcing is great, but it was very bad running a car for only 5 min. at a time, because somthing would over heat go wrong, break!!! wat a hastle, when i get my savage I'm gunna fallow all the break in derections perfect its going to be so fun!! thanks for the insperation lykan.
yea I'm thinking of tieing a rope to my x-c....and pulling its sory a** around with my savage for an hour see how it likes it!!! lol jk

SAVAGE!

Well I learned a lot from the savage I think running the X-C would be a lot easier now because I know how a nitro is supposed to run..if that makes sense.. it ran good out of thew box.

So now I know what really hot is, and how much smoke I should see, how to tune etc.

Damn guys, Do ya really hate your X-cells? Or just stadium trucks in general?
I bought one for my 18yr old son. Haven't ran it. (Told him if it broke, he had to fix it. So I won't touch it.) He has had some problems out of it, but no more than any other car. I can't get him to do any upkeep on it, but seems like his runs almost as long as anything I have.
A guardrail got it the last time. Shock ends and turnbuckles was it. Engine seems like it runs great. Cheap to fix.

I spend 1 to 2 hundred dollars on mods to keep any rtr running. That's just the weak points. For 200 bones I didn't the X-cell was that bad.

The muffler on my Savage didn't make it for the motor to break in. I did the spider gear mod and I could see wear in the gears that were there after 1/2 a gallon? Wore out what little brake it had after 3/4 to a gallon. Scared I'm going to strip the wheels everytime I run it.
I've spent more time fixing the cars than any plane I have, but I love it. Best of luck with your Savage. You will like it. But don't think you are going to run the piss out of it without working on it. It's about lykan's signature: Work on it all week and look at it on the weekend. Only way ya won't have troubles. Best o luck. :D

lol yea rc's take some work, well i love my x-c, its just enough is enough with pull starts, this and that! this is my 3rd rc and i think i know whats up, and how eveything should be, so I'm going to start from new, and keep up with it and keep it clean of problems, or try!!!! blah!!! can't wait, plus my friends getting a savge too, we did this so we can compare if one of us has problems with out truck!! we will beat the oddS!!!!!!

love rcing-
thanks--

and another thing whys every one talking aabout this spider gear mod??? whats that all about how much is it, is it hard to put in?? should i get one?

thanks-

The X-C was my first nitro so that explains a bit. I don't mind stadium trucks a bit, but they are meant for races, or easy bashing, soft landings.

As far as stadium trucks go, the X-C was wicked fast, tuned fair, and handled well. My only compaint with the X-C was the exposed spur gear.. gravel ate em like no tommorow until I made a sheild..

The Savage is just as good a MT as the X-C is a stadium truck, I just don't play nice at all, and any stadium truck won't handle that kind of abuse for long.

I've read a lot of RC4LYFE's posts about his X-C and it seems the way he's used to bashing the Savage will hold up a bit better for his driving style.

BTW you are absolutely right, if you are going to play with a nitro car or truck, you will have to maintain and fix it constantly, it just the nature of the hobby.

yea stadium trucks are nice but not for me, i need the savage!!! now i just gotta wait till x-mas!!
