Hey everybody. In my savage i have an LRP .28 its great, not hear to talk about the engine really.. just that the bolt that threads into the end holding the outer bearing and clutch bell on, keeps coming out while I'm driving and jeopardizing my mesh. I had thread locked it to the point of where I'm afraid of permanently gumming up the inside of my shaft thread. Can anybody help me and figure out why this keeps happening and does anybody else have the same issue? My shimming is fine and there is enough slop (like 1-1.5mm clearance) for it to not be affected by pressure up against the head of the bolt making it back out. I love my savage and want to run it but this hinders my experience so much. Anybody please help thanks!

id try a different screw
if ur loctitin it and the screw is still backin out it must have worped threads

see thats what i don't get... it doesn't. The bolt will thread perfectly. No play/slop side to side in the shaft. I am positive it isn't stripped. i will try shimming it differently and give some feed back. thanks for the response though.

man seems weird,r u sure the screw is the right size for the crank shaft?
maybe try one with a slightly larger diameter

try another bolt regardless.

if u clog it up with locktight then easiest way to fix that is to get a small drill bit and try hand screw the locktight out, if its hard then get the drill in there, careful not to touch the thread on the crank.

and what locktight are you using? there are different strenghts

I've worked in small assembly for years. Heres my take on this. 1. Change the bolt regardless and make sure it's long enough to get a good grip on the crank threads 2. Clean the hole thoroughly of all contaminants and inspect threads 3. Buy some new Blue Loctite and Loctite Primer if you can find some 4. Reinstall and let the Loctite dry before operation. Hope you get it fixed bro.
