A friend of mine has a savage X and the stock servo is pathetically underpowered. They should actually be ashamed of the servo they put in it IMO lol. The question is there seems to be a plastic cover covering what appears to be a place you could mount an additional steering servo but even if you could mount a servo there I dont see any place to attach a second servo horn. Is there a mod to run dual steering servos? If not what is the minimum torque rating you would use for the savy 4.6?

Imo on any monster truck model i wouldnt run anything less than 125 in oz torque servos. The savox 1256tg seems to be a favorite among many savy owners. I personally run futaba s3305 servos on my buggy and revo. The hitech i have on my tmaxx steering is around 222in oz and has lasted for a long time and still very fast and strong.

The Savage is heavy,I wouldn't recommend anything under 150oz. 200+ would be even better especially if you run big tires or drive in the grass much. I run a JR rated at 142oz and it leaves me wanting more sometimes. I'm too broke to rate it high enough to replace though.

^^^ +1 on this. I run the same JR on my Sav X. I cannot afford to use anything <$.
