Savage 25 + 3 speed tranny + Wasp .28 -vs- Stock tire...tire lost (pic inside)

Well, In a previous thread I mention I needed better tires for my Savage 25 which has a Wasp .28 and a three speed tranny. Yesturday, what I was expecting happend (take note of the pic). All of a sudden "blip...boom...booom" I saw something go flying. I thought I hit something until closer inspection. What I sall was the foam insert get shot out of the tire as the tire exploaded. The whole insert was shot out of the blown tire. The tire was ripped and blown. The glue held up nice as you can see.

Can anyone suggest a better tire that will handle high road speeds but decent in the dirt?

I Got Beadlocks for my mammotha and would think the same would work in your case.

Personally I have never even seen a Savvy firsthand, much less driven one, but from what I can tell the upgraded engine and tranny on the "ss" (is that right?) models can waste a tire FAST. The extra power causes the tire to expand and sometimes uncontrolable whelies.
Beadlock rims are great for when you do have to replace you rubber, it makes it a lot easier. As for the rubber itself I know I have seen several modifications and stock tires that feature either a strip of reinforced material (or even a rubber band) around the middle of the tire to stop the expansion. Allthough i don't have any sugestions for the rubber, you might look around for modified tires that have the band around them, I hear they work wonders.

Try running any kind of 40 series. Less sidewall flex.

40 series....is that what is stock on a tmaxx?

Nope, what is stock on a maxx is considered "maxx" sized. 40 series are a larger wheel with a thinner tire, they are the same hight and width just less tire.

Try adding a strip of ducttape to the in side of the tire.This will help lessing the blooning of the tire..
And help keeping the tire on the rim.

If you want to run on the street at a high speed, try some foam tires. They hook good and they don't balloon out.

all these suggestions are excellent
but just out of the blue try dbl checking your glue job too ,save yourself alot of cash unless you want other tires
also if you used super glue instead of CA it will not hold up either

Well, I know that is a bad pic. The glue held up. The tire actually spilt around the glue. There is no other fault except the tire could not handle the high speeds. I will Take all suggestions into consideration when I go to my LHS today! Thanks guys!
