Well last monday my friend called me and told me there was a wreck in front of my house. I go out and a 17 year old kid (who drives EXTREMELY fast all over town) had wrapped his car around a tree right in front of my place. There was no doubt he didn't make it. Nobody was with him thankfully. I think he was trying to drift the corner lost control and hit the tree doing over 100. Poor kid and family. I saw his mom get out of her car see his car and just hit the ground freaking out crying hysterically. It was hard to watch. My friend saw it all and walked up the car and saw the kid with his eyes open lifeless. Said he will never forget that picture in his head. Sorry to bug you guys but I think we all need to be reminded of how easy it is to just have it all disappear. Here is the newspapers photo of the crash.

Damn that is too bad, I feel sorry for his family, hopefully other kids his age will get a reality check from this and realize just how easy it is for it to all be over in a blink of an eye.

Car wrecks are the #1 cause of death in the 18 to 24 age group. This kid was only 17.
Why is it that the ones with the LEAST amount of driving skills take the greatest chances?
A happy day indeed when he got that car, and now it's the worst possible day EVER in the lives of his parents.
My heart goes out to them.

Ya he has a lot of "street racer" friends. Maybe they will realize.

Just goes to show that driving is NOT a game and that everyone needs to realize that. Very sad.

wow that sucks....i feel for he family..i lost a cousin in law the same way last year..only my cousin in law was drunk when it happend..

makes me thing twice of some stupid poop i've done in a car and on a quad even

I lost my left leg when some idiot wasn't paying attention and ran a stop sign. In a split second everything changed. Driving carries a huge responsibility with it. If and when anyone ever forgets that...time to turn in your license.

Very sad for the Family. I hope others do learn from it too. IMO there are way too many people driving cars that are not given proper training and understanding of what driving a car means.

its always a sad day when someone does something dumb and hurt or kill themselves.

i was headed to visit family one night and came up on a fresh wreck where the guy pulled out to fast and underneath a passing 18 wheeler. the people on the scene said they figured he was drunk by all the beer cans in the car. needless to say i will never forget the image of him laying in the road infront of what used to be an old school cutlass, and beside the engine that used to be connected to said car. lets just say i drove super extra careful for the next 4 hours of my trip..

This should also be a lesson to all you guys who think Motorcycles are road toys.
Today, August 9th, would have been my sister's birthday, but 2 weeks after she turned 40 she was hit head on by a motorcycle traveling in excess of 100 MPH, trying to catch up with his friends. He also died on the scene at 19 years old.
My sister left 3 young boys without a mother.
Rarely does the speeder suffer, but the families can never erase the tragedy and loss that's left forever.

Happy Birthday, Violet.
I love you and I miss you something awful.

It saddens me, even though i see this kind of thing, ALMOST on a daily basis, my heart still drops every time i see a scene like that. I was told on the scene of my first fatality that i worked that it gets easier to watch/deal with them....... after three years, and HUNDREDS of scenes later........ it doesn't.
