rx pack 2/3 A or AA????????

Looking at rx packs from onlybatterypacks.com for my RC10GT. What is the difference between 2/3A and AA type of packs? I want Nimh and around 1300-1800mah (I think).
 
It has to do with the size of the pack itself. I use and buy batteries for onlybatties as well. good price good service and fast shippin. So pick the one that will fit in your ride.

You can get a pack of 6 Nimh (2300Mah) AA for $12 at Costco....I picked up two sets so I can make 2300Mah rx packs for all my cars. I have been looking into the Li-poly rx but have yet to find a cost effective solution.

first off is size. 2/3A's are shorter but a tad wider in diameter, however you won't find them in mah ratings much higher than 1800. you can get AA size NiMh's up to 2300 mah. Also, 2/3A's can put out they're power faster than a AA size cell. I'm not sure if there are any real advantages to using 2/3A over AA in Rx packs or not (other than fit and weight savings). Maybe if you're running digital servo's :shrug: but that's arguable I guess.

Do you mean the current flow is greater or that they go dead quicker? I thought current flow was directly related to the type of chemicals inside the battery, not the physical stature of the battery.
 
current flow I think. The Mah rating will tell how long a charge will last. I read somewhere here in the forum that a 2/3 can put the power out quicker than a AA. maybe I can dig that up... of course just because I read it doesn't make it true.
 
Huh... I wonder why? Maybe it's because the cells are fatter so they have larger disks inside to allow the extra current flow. I can't imagine it's much better though since they are marginally larger in diameter than a NiMH AA battery.
 
maybe it's because they are shorter?... less resistance? I dunno. but I agree, the performance gains as a Rx pack is most likely extremely minimal
