it should, but do you have any other chargers? I just have my one superbrain 959 and I made up lots of different adapters for charging Glow Starter, RX packs, rotostart packs, AA's, single batteries.... And BTW, you could save some money on the hump pack here: http://cgi.ebay.com/6V-Receiver-Bat...2QQihZ018QQcategoryZ34063QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Only a 300 mah difference, but its like $18 difference. You can buy 2 or 3 of those and just always have one charged ready to use.

It isnt for me. A kid in my area got a Rusty for his b-day a few months ago, and I have been helping him get the most out of it. and last night at like 10pm he road his bike to my house to show me what he got. one of my LHS sold him the battery and said the charger will take 12hrs to charge. And normaly I wouldn't give it a second thought but once I was looking for a charger for my RC18MT and one of the people tried to sell me a HPI Overnigh 7.2 charger for it. So I just wanted to be sure he wont burndown his house or somthing. How long do you think it will take.

I was thinking about a 959 for me but wasn't sure. can you plug it into a normal wall outlet. or do you need a 12v battery.

Thanks

The charger I recommend to everyone is the MRC Super Brain 977http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLCJ6&P=ML, since it can charge two different batteries at once, can charge all cell chemistries NiCd, NiMH, Lithium, and Lead acid cells, and is AC/DC.

If that is too high for the budget, the best bargain peak charger seems to be the Duratrax Piranha Digital http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCLD5&P=ML It is elementary school easy to use, has 10 slot memory so you don't always have to re-enter what you are charging each time, and is AC/DC.

I have both, and between the two of them, I can recharge my radio batteries (2300mAh Orion AAs), receiver pack batteries (custom built 2650mAh Duracell AAs), and my 12 volt 7Ah starter box battery all at once, and be ready to go within two hours (charge before breakfast, ready to go for day).

Plugs into a normal wall outlet. Very good charger for the price. Adjustable charging rates, .5 amps, 1 amp, 1.5 amps, 2 amps, 2.5 amps, 3 amps, 3.5 amps, 4 amps, and 4.5 amps. 1-8 cells. NIMH and NiCd

I thought the MRC's had problems with the Li-Poly's in that it didn't charge them properly which led to fires? Supposedly it had been somewhat resolved with the newer models but others have stated not so.

That was an issue with the MRC Super Brain 969 Pro. Its algorithm didn't automatically shut off, and you had to monitor the charge and manually stop it from what I heard. Aside from lithium charging problems, it worked fine with all other cell types. The lithium problems were resolved, and a more powerful power supply was added for the Super Brain 977. That isn't much concellation if you owned the older one though.

So MRC did the honorable thing and gave anyone who bought the charger a free upgrade to the Super Brain 977 software which did not have the defect. You could even pay a small fee and get the 10 amp power supply the 977 had as an upgrade(since 969 shipped with a 5 amp unit).
