I still have the roto start on my Savage 25 (Cuz pull starts are nothing but probs for me) and when I charge the battery it reaks really bad. The box thing that plugs in the wall gets really hot and if I leave it on for a while the battery gets hot also. Is this normal? My other charger was a rapid charger and the battery would get a little warm but wouldnt smell like this. Smells like a electrical fire.. I have two different batteries and it does it for both.. Is this common? Any ideas? or should I go get a new charger?

If you charger is old I would get a new one, I hade the same prob But I foun that if I charge the battery out in my garage were their is nice circulation and it is cool I didnt have a hot charger and no smell

sounds like a faulty charger. something in it is prolly cooked and sending too much current to the battery causing it to overheat as well. stop using it because your damaging your batteries by overheating them.
