First off I think it will melt your truck, I have seen one that has a real jet engine like the ones they use in RC Jets but you are talking alot of money.

lol. hmm what else could I do? I mean, if a jet engine in not feasable, lets hear some ideas. I know there are people out there with cool things to try, throw 'em out there.

You could do like a prop driven car, like an airboat for land. That would be interesting. All you would need would be some mounting bracket's and an airplane motor with the prop reversed......

I wonder if you kept the nitro/electric motor on the rig and get it up and running at full speed. Then use the model rocket engines and fire them off, what would happen. Most likely it would flip the rig but you never know. I would think it easy to rig something up to hold the engines, but it would be a short lived blast of speed.

Slightly off topic, but I remember back when I worked in the LHS, we had a rocket-assisted launch glider. It used a single rocket engine to get it up into the air, then it was all gliding from there.

How about an amphibious nitro rc car it can't be that difficult. You would need some form of hull large enough to hold a nitro rc but the car would probably have to be 1:16 or smaller to be light enough.

what about a hovercraft? A hairdrier to lift and a plane motor and propeller on an ESC and gun 'er. an amphibious truck sounds cool. that fan car looks neat too.

It would have to be more powerful than that, it would need to be some type of ducted fan to direct pressure into the "skirt" of the rig

Oh, I dunno... An 80mm Vantec Tornado on 12V will push quite a bit of air. It's good for around 80CFM; just wear ear plugs; it's LOUD! Ran off a 3S lipo, through a low voltage cutoff, that should work nicely.

Thats true. How would I carry a 12 volt battery on a small hovercraft? I'm not sure if it would support it.

i'm not really going to spend that kinda money on a battery, unless i am going to upgrade my plane... which I might do...
