Is it feasible to use a Traxxas Slash for any kind of rock crawling? I can’t afford multiple RC vehicles and was looking at one multi-purpose vehicle like the Slash.

In theory, yes. It would have to be a 4wd. Slipper clutch eliminator, aluminum differential housings and diff cups. Spool in the rear, CVD axles, big bone center diff, geared low or direct drive. Plus lots of other strengthening and stiffening parts.

by the time you go finished making it capable with out destroying its self, you could have just bought a second RC, honestly. I’ve got a slash VXL 4wd and a 2wd. With traxxas, there is nothing budget friendly about them. I’ve personally kicked around the idea of selling mine off and buying a quality RC from the get go.

you can use a slash 4x4 is best . a stock esc/motor wont allow you to crawl slow enough either will the stock tires to hard... as for drive train it will holdup no mods needed...you can go all out but no need then it becomes a money pit.been there done that..

It is definitely possible with creativity. I have seen a few ways people have done it. Is most common is just putting bigger tires and differential lockers on a Slash 4 wheel drive or Rustler 4 wheel drive and having it as an independent suspension crawler like the Traxxas Summit.

I have also seen people lock up the independent suspension and then use the front and rear suspension assemblies as solid axles. I have seen people turn 2 wheel drive vehicles into crawlers like this by getting 2 rear suspension assemblies and attaching them to a chassis with 2 motors.
