Speed is all in the motor turn (kv), gearing (spur and pinion), and battery (rpm x volt).

On my scx10ii I can hit 22 mph on 3s. I modded the motor mount to slide more and slapped on a 22t pinion. This is mainly for mud slinging and donuts not speed runs.

Other versions of the ecto come with ifs, not just a live axle. May help with with cornering if you want different handling from the trx4.
Right I just didn't know how high a kv I could go up to on on an Ecto. I'm only thinking of maybe going up a bit to something like a 2650 not just something for all our speed but something to kick it up a notch on what ever model I build. Does Trail trucks run like a 2300kv?

I have a 2280 in my scx10ii. I have a 2850 I think in my cen f450. That should be fine. My cen f450 has moved damn near 600IBS with it. 🤣

The higher the kv the more speed it has so to speak. The lower the kv, the more torque.

Look on amainhobbies.com. The only kit they offer is their basic builders kit that you can turn into whatever you want with additional parts and a Comp Fox kit for competition crawling. The rest are RTR. Like with most companies, the kit version most likely comes with some upgrades over RTR.

So with that kit I could build the Knight runner?

Yes I saw that I really like it but not sure I saw it in a Kit? Do they make that one in a kit cause if they do that's likely one I'd get
At top is the kits. I'm pretty sure they are all the same aside from the live front or ifs.

Tge kit needs wheels, body and electronics.

If you have a grease gun in the garage, get some red and tacky and fill up some clean syringes. You will thank me. 🤣🫠

You could if you got all the additional parts that go with it. You would have to compare manuals. It would cost a lot more because you would need the independent front suspension and the other variant specific parts.

So what model is that build specifically for?

Say what? 😂

Go to the team associated website. You can see the kits they offer and download the manuals. Companies do not offer very many kits like they used to. They make more money from RTR. Just a few years ago there were many "builders kit" options... Axial Yeti, Wraith, Bomber, Element Gatekeeper, Losi even used to offer the Rock Rey as a kit.

I'm telling you, it's slim picking when it comes to kits these days.

Yeah I know But lots of people keep telling me to get Kit But they are slim. I'm wondering if I'd be better off and come out cheaper getting RTR and Swapping out the Motor

There is nothing wrong with getting an RTR. It's whatever suits you best. You are the one that said you wanted a kit. You can get an RTR and mod it however you like.
Yes I would like a Kit cause it's fun to build But I don't have to have one. I really want that Gmade Truck Kit but I can't find one. Maybe I could find one on eBay
