Now that it's becoming more mainstream and Rlaarlo seems (?) to be getting their act together on spare parts availability I've decided to start puttering around with it.
In a previous build thread I installed a Pro-Line T/A body and a generic ebay body and was pleased on how it came out.

Saw a bunch of stabilizer wings for the rear and decided to fab up some.
I used 1/8" PVC and attached them to the chassis instead of the body.
Tried to match the paint scheme, the orange is OK but the blue is too dark. I'll be looking for a better blue paint match.

Much better work than I do.
Thanks but not really... I'm just a static/cosmetic builder with minimal R/C tech chops who just got into the hobby. You know what you're doing.
Your Rlaarlo build thread https://www.rctalk.com/forum/threads/jerolds-rlaarlo-build.138240/ is fantastic with some very thorough research and tests you've done with alternate parts. The info on springs, shocks, geometry and gearing is invaluable and nicely presented.
The Traxxas parts mod is precious... addressing a weak point in the original design with ingenuity :thumbs-up: :thumbs-up:
Keep up the good work and excellent writeups, tons of good stuff for 917 owners.

Thank you. But you haven't seen me paint anything and my car doesn't drive straight yet. Not sure what's happening, but it's hindering me quite a bit.

If you didn't figure it out I'm an engineer and these are puzzles. That's why I over engineer all the little bits. . . . and over explain sometimes. :p
