More good news for Ripper enthusiasts...Injora Ascent 18 metal steering links are a direct fit to replace stock plastic ones on the Ripper front axle. 👍

Well, down the never-ending rabbit hole of constant tinkering 😆 The only complaint I had with this unit was it's high center so I went full droop, shocks inverted, no springs and careful fender trimming and I have accomplished the task of lowering the mass without any negative performance indication as of now. Side by side shows the difference with the stock setup. Pretty stoked with the outcome, will do more testing and if all goes well I will definitely do the same procedure on the stock unit.

Nice! At this size every little bit makes a difference.

Can you explain/show the mods required to lower it? Lower COG is always better, but why remove the springs/use them upside down?

Hello Gozuki 👋

Here are a few items that can explain the function of this mod better than I can 😊...
While probably not an ideal setup for a trail truck it has several benefits for a purpose built crawler

Here is another rig of mine with inverted shocks...without using large spacers and longer screws the widest part of the shock body did not have enough room to attach at the top location (frame) so I had to invert them so the narrowest part of the shock had the needed clearance at the top and the widest part had the clearance needed at the bottom (axle).

The RGT is incredible out of the box. It's actually too fast, I'm going to underdrive the rear with the Ascent gears. Definitely needs more low down weight, I ordered some heavy brass beadlocks and 72mm tires, but otherwise it's a beast!

Great to hear your rig arrived! Yes, 2nd gear is insane for this scale..😄 Awesome to see someone else enjoy great performance at a very reasonable price point!
Although I see the prices creeping up since mine were purchased..🤨

I am very impressed with the ripper. All metal gears, servo and arm are metal, two speed transmission, and ball bearings everywhere. My only gripe is the outright speed. In low gear it's fast but controllable for the most part, but high gear is basically unusable because it's so fast, any steering input is usually enough to flip it over.

Well, that was quick 😆 Blew up the factory servo. Looks like there is either the Injora hotness 11kg for ~$35-40, or a whole poop ton of import stuff from ~$12-$25. Recommendations?

I know the Injora fits with a small spacer mounted between servo and ripper mount (see pic). The spacers move the servo forward enough to not interfere with body mount as the Injora servo is a tad longer than original. Can't remember if original horn fits because I ordered the Injora horn also. Cheaper servos may need more modifications.
