Hello fellow RC'ers,
Anyone have any experiences or own a RGT Ripper...it's apparently a Redcat Apex clone (almost identical) except with a 2 speed transmission still using the mini hobbywing motor/esc setup as the Apex along with metal gears, portal axles, etc. Only a 2s lipo is included. For a $150-160 price tag I'm genuinely interested in picking a unit up.

Here's a pic..

It looks like a not bad truck for a not bad price. 😎

I'm looking forward to your review! 😉😁

Looks like an ascent clone, not the apex. Either way it's a good truck from redcat. Price difference between the apex and the ascent is noticeable. What scale?
It's 1/18 scale....the Ascent seems to have more upright shock positions and pics of this rig have the lay down style very similar to the Apex along with the 5° angle skid..almost identical rear latch system for the body..also the ascent I believe comes in brushed and brushless, so if choosing brushless as this rgt ripper is the ascent is more expensive.
It's enough rolled into the same package for me to give it a try ☺️

More info I found with pic...
Metal gears servo with metal servo horn, skid plate appears to be aluminum, not plastic and it has counter rotating driveline to help subdue torque twist and 3s capable.. crazy stuff for a clone ☺️

Yea I have an Apex, that's why staring at it in front of me and comparing it the similarities are bizarre..even claims 60/40 weight bias out of the box as the Apex. I'll see what it's all about when/if one shows up 😄

Right on, will be curious to see what you think when it gets there.

Cool, just comparing chassis' not really the bodies..I will probably change out the body so the style/design of that wasn't really part of my comparisons..I think a decent wheel/tire combo with a little brass and it's a somewhat capable decent rig. Anyhow, now we wait..lol

Always curious to see a new rig, haven't seen this RGT before. most likely manufactured in same factory.
Apparently they make 1/10 scale rigs also..seem to be difficult or expensive to get in the US..they tend to target the UK and Asian countries with their products (or knockoffs). All their internals are Hobbywing stuff, how bad can it be? 😄
