Ok so i've got this uber cash pit of a tmaxx and i can't keep the stupid thing operational to save my life. I am selling a JL 300/2 amp and i have an offer to trade for a 2.5 revo in good condition with only a venom failsafe and trx 3.3 as upgrades.

I am thinking i can sell my mill, and most of the stuff off my tmaxx and get back a few hundred.

Is the revo a decent basher? I don't do crazy jumps but i like to just run around with them.

I would probably transfer my steering servo, radio, and battery back to the revo (if i got it)

How strong can i make the revo if i invest roughly 2-300 in it?

The Revo will be fine right out of the box. Just fix it if and when something fails or brakes. There are a few mods that you can do if you want. FOC, Single steering servo do a search on this site and you will have plenty to read.

Its a worthy upgrade from a T to the Revo.

sounds good to me. I know my 18tm will sell along with the cage and mip shafts. I just want something more reliable. I love nitro rc but it gets discouraging when all your hard work seems to be futile

Great upgrade. The FOC is like 12 bux, Single steering servo depends on the servo you pick, and mayne some better tires and wheels.

I myself have spent already ...

Revo spool diff--10 bux
FOC--12 bux
Proline 40 series wabash rims and Crime fighters--100bux
Crazy Nut Racing 23mm adapters--50 bux
P3 pushrods and rockers-20 bux

Sometime I will get the RPM arms and axle carriers but that will wait till I break something.

I had the 2.5 Maxx... and it is like Night and Day with these two. Handling is way better, Reverse was much easier to engage, and wrenching is pretty easy since I have wrenched on quite a few rides so there is not much hesitation. Plus it is a .20 size engine!!!Traxxas put their heads together on this one.

hmmm. very tempting.

I have 40 series rims with big joes on my maxx so i can swap those over as well.

any other parts swappable?

No unless you have the TMAXX with the Revo parts.. you would tell because the parts are normally black are now grey. Then the Tranny and drivelines you could use.

I would keep the OS TM for use in the revo and sell the amp... then part off the maxx and stop sinking $ into it.

A revo with aluminum shock ends, p2 rockers, RPM arms and RPM hub carriers is damn tough. Way more tough than my $1000 t-maxx ever was.
