This rig is a tribute the community here. ALL of the knowledge and most of the parts that went into this race Revo came form here....and or a few parts from Amain and my local LHS.

I found that I was not going to be able to build a true Truggy and support it thru the year, so I took the parts I had been gathering and built a racer that I can use in the club races this year to prepare for more advanced racing next year.

SO the parts list:

3.3 revo chassis thanks Jon2
Most the racing hop ups come from a rig picked up from JetMech Thanks Jet you have been a great help when I grow up I want to be just like you.....well perhaps not....but I have learned from you for sure.
They include . RPM all around Traxxas Turnbuckles, Lundsford struts, Quickturn, FOC Transmission. Shocks. GS WingStay, Tekno racing tank and RX and bat box.

Fast Eddy provided the ball bearings and eclips and body clips and HiTech servos(still need to change those out to his) the hump pack for the rx as well as locktite and Dry Ice and tools and the mat I built it on you get the idea..Thanks ED.

I added Max Down force Wing, a new set of Crimes with racers edge foams on White Wabash rims, a New Era set of skids (I know adds weight ...but you need to see me drive to understand.....I am usually on my lid or in the gravel.)

Rd Logics handle bar and a Trinity pipe. I am running the original 3.3 from my first REVO with a NOVA Racing head....thanks go to my wife for that one......she probably wishes she would have just kept on walking that day....;)

I will use the 3.3 to run everything in and then I will switch to either an OS 18 TM, or I have a RB Concepts TM523 inbound, I may slap that one in there to really make it impossible for me to drive ..;)

I added Robinson 40t spur gear and clutch bell set...may switch to the 38 depending on the track ...I have never had this on the track ...but the combo is ripping quick on my little test track.

The lid is a $10 special at the LHS . Not sure what it was intended to fit....but for $10 and a few rattle cans it turned out OK. I suck at painting so I try to make up for it with decals.

Ok, well as always feedback appreciated...especially you veteran racers...what did I do wrong or what should I change to actually be competitive???????

On with the show!!

nice looking rig man!! the only thing i see is loose the easy start. that will save ALOT of weight, and make the body fit nicely as well.

what tank is that?

and just because i like giving people a hard time, you have the same pic in there twice!! :D

Ahh good catch beason......I zapped the dup.

The tank is Teckno RC....the bigger one .I think.????....Jet Jump in here......he might have actually swapped another tank in there....I know it last ALONG time compared to the stocker.

The EZ start and I have a love hate relationship for sure. I have a bump starter and the appropriate fly wheel on the shelf, I just hate hauling that crap around.

I was thinking tiger drive perhaps. Anybody have experience with them????

Anyway thanks for stopping by.

that looks like the hyper one 7 tank that is 250cc. i had one on my rig, watch the lid seal, mine sucked. also it had a bad habbit of leaning out in hard long corners. i switched to the mbx5-t tank and its WAY better quality.

put a pull start on the blasted thing!!! i run one on my revo and its WAY easyer, plus the glo stick it easyer to tote around then the sleezy start wand.

Yea ....I thin k a pull start is the answer...I have the glow stick.....Alright.....off to the LHS for pull starter......I hate when you are right.....;)

i like those skids, but i just got this one (the one on the bottom) for mine, light as a feather and seems to cover all the important bits.

if your intersted in getting one for yourself, ill find out who makes it. may save you some oz's

Thanks for stopping in Hawk......yea beason I am trying the New era skid set for the first time...I like it...I have used the carbon one as wel...and It does the job........I just like the whole set that matches.....ya know fashion statement and all..;)

Nice looking rig! I like the NE skids as well, but don't the front/rear ones go over the existing skids and lower ground clearance a bit?

What air filter is that? I've never seen one like that before.

Ya know olds those skids looked like they would have to go over the existing one(no instructions in the box) but when I tried that not only did reduce clearance the enclosed screws would not reach....so I took the stock gear off and it all feel into place....it leaves the studs exposed but after testing it out they all stayed in and it appears the smart folks at New Era have the tolerances so close that they actually could not fall out if they tried....so all is good.

they air filter is a motor saver with a "hat " on.....its one of those filter outers....my LHS has them cheap and use them up here because of the dust....so habit I guess...they work good and it saves the full air filter cleaning each time..,.I just rinse out the outer with dawn soap and oil it up.

Every tenth session or so I take the whole thing apart and do a regular cleaning ans such.

Thanks for stopping by.

Never saw a filter cover like that... Do you know the mfr name?

With the NE skids, what holds the hinge pins in place? I thought the skids were just flat so they wouldn't give the hinge pins any support.

It looks that way until you get it all strapped in there.....they come in tight enough so the pins can't come out in the back......and in the front the pins (longer) just rest on the brace.

As for the filter covers I get them from a big bin there....they use them on planes as well.....no brand that I can see....I will send you a few if you like....just PM me.

Motorsaver makes filter covers and they're gray in color. I have one on my basher.

Talon you might also want to try the Hardcore Racing Titanium skids.Still haven't really even scratched mine. They are are at least as light as stock and are much tougher.

That titanium one is very cool..HAMZ9561....I just need to save up some scratch for that...been wearing out the pay pal account as of late... time to cool off a bit or sell something.

Momma only lets me have so much green tied up in this stuff.....for my own good....or she says..;)

Tight looking rig you got there Talon, how goes the racing?

Thanks man...I actually have not raced it yet....but if the practice sessions are any indication the local wheels :marshall: have nothing to worry about...;

I will race it in the next or so...stay tuned..

Well about that.....the racing part has yet to come....in the next week or so I will enter my first race,,,,wish me luck......:third_place:

good lookin truck. i had to ditch the 40 series, just was not doin me any good on the track i race on. just not enough turning radius for me
