I have a nitro mt and I need a new engine. Does anyone have any sugguessions on engines that will fit.

Most .15 engines with the side exhaust will be a direct fit and will use the same header and pipe. What will it be used for, racing/bashing and what is your price range? The more info you give the better the answer will be.

Welcome to the site!

i would suggest going with the hot bodies .18 10 fin purple head. this is the one i have in my mt and i love it. right now i need a new spur gear due my forgetfull ness. but its a really good one. i still need to get mine tuned the way i like it but its a good engine. it has good torque for the way it was.

I had the OS 18 cv-r(x) with a standard shaft and rotory carb in mine when I had it. You need to be engine mounts, but you will have to do that with any aftermarket engine.

bustedgears has the o.s. .18 cv-rx on his nitro mt, and i have the same mill on my rc10gt. that thing is a beast. and not that pricey ether.. check into it, you will love it.

That engine has been replaced by the 18 cv-r. I had the 15 in my xxx-nt 5 years ago. It was a very stable and capable engine. Which is why I tried the 18 cv-r... but then I never ran the truck much because every time I did, I broke stuff. But the engine ran great all 10 tanks I ran through it!

...you mean the same 18ss that people put in their Smartech's and get top speeds of 75+ ??? wow, yeah, to hell with OS, get the stock HPI 18ss!

LOL..wow, I wonder how people get those numbers:ponder2:

Wow Santana, got a real burr up your ass on speeds don't ya? Why don't you explain a little more as to your statement about OS engines rather than just throwing a blanket statement out there. May help him make his decision, especially since the majority of suggestions made have been OS.

...Not a blanket statement but rather a sarcastic statement about the post quoted. I thought it was funny that someone came up with that rediculous number from a "stock" motor. I've nothing against OS engines...if you look at a couple of other posts, you'd know I have nothing bad to say about the 18CV-R and have used them on 2 different vehicles. People shouldn't go about with false numbers like that, the originator would've wasted money should he/she believed the lie.

well the 18ss would be a very very nice fast replacement engine for the crappy original 15FE. Luckily my FE is still running after 6 gallons and tons and tons of abuse but I too found it was time to upgrade. I got a really good deal on the T-15 (Stock MT2 engine) otherwise I was going to go with the 18ss.

The t-15 is suprisingly good for an rtr engine...but i think the originator's better off with the 18cv-r...the OS is only about $20 more than the t-15 and has considerably more power and tuning efficiency (ability to hold a better tune longer). Don't get me wrong, HPI makes some VERY good engines (4.6, 18ss, etc) but for the price, almost nothing comes close to the power and durability of an OS

Nsantana, maybe you should politely ask Condorman if he has anything to back up his statement before you jump out and call him a liar. It seems anyone that makes a comment on this board that is questionable gets jumped all over lately. If you feel that he is miss informing someone then why not ask nicely for some facts to back it up? Instead of launching an attack! I just get so fed up of coming here to read a thread and having to sift thru all this other crap of people attacking others. That’s my 2 cents.

after rereading the statments i see nsantanas sarcasm. condorman, if you have valuable information to help this thread please post it, but be prepaired to back up your clames with viable information. stating that a 18ss can go 64mph is a big statement. i have the .18cv-rx on a rc10gt, a good friend of mine has the same mill on a nitro mt (the rig in question) both of us can agree that the mill we recomended is a good mill for the application because we own it and have drivin it. top speed depends on alot of things like gearing, rig, terrain, ect. i think nsantanas sarcasm got lost in translation. maby we need a sarcastic smiley???

OK,

I admit, I should've been more clear with the sarcasm (can't find the sarcastic grin though). However Ryhton, I'm not going to pull back when someone makes an outrageous statement. This was discussed last time when I first put up that post...If the originator would've read and believed that, that would've been a waste of their money...Put yourself in those shoes, what if you were the one looking to buy a mill and someone put a B/S post up like that and you find out the hard way that he was full of it in his post?!? I didn't think calling someone's bluf would cause such an uproar....well, in that case, here's my unproven truth: 1000Mph Mugen MTX-4 :) J/K

Just relax, worse stuff happens

NSantana, I understand your point. I just had a problem with the way it was executed.
