Whats the best way to remove the chrome finish from a set of rims without damaging the rims? I've got an odl beat up set of wheels I want to use on my crawler but the chrome is chipped up pretty bad and I want to dye them black.

if I'm not mistaking there was a post on here about that a month ago or so. try searching for it. I run aluminum wheels so I can't remember how its done. I will try to find it for you. But now, i am curious how its done also.

Easy off oven cleaner. Spray them down, go away and come back in about 15 minutes, all the chrome will be gone. It's that easy, I have done it to two sets of Savage wheels.
