If ya max them out, they’ll ALL fail.. Don’t pull so far-just many, little, short pulls in a row everytime.. If ya still can’t manage-find a rotostart backplate. -OR You may just be a starter box guy.. 🤷🏻‍♂️😅

So, short stroke it. Got it 😂 I started out with a rotostart, but they all broke too. I just got my starter box working but I think the motor has too much compression for it to spin it over

The OWB won’t allow it… 😉

I’d heat it up before I’d waste effort loosening the plug.. Just about ANY starter box would have no problem at all with the “compression”.. Metal pinch on the other hand can only be remedied with HEAT. Toss your girl’s hair dryer, or a proper heat gun on the case before starting. Will save wear and tear on the piston, the sleeve, and your poor rod as well.

Yep! Always pre heat that b**ch

I've worn out a pull start struggling to break in an engine, the combination of high pinch & excessive pulls wore the string until it split, and I kept stalling it because it was my first time tuning a nitro.

Once it's past that initial break-in period, the pull start shouldn't take any more than a quick flex of the wrist. It's not a motion you have to pull your arm back through. You're not going for momentum like with a lawnmower or weed-whacker, you're going for just 2-3 "pops" from the exhaust. Think beating eggs with a whisk, not pulling the handle on a rowing machine.
