We have the Maxx and I can say it’s a big truck. They say it’s 1/10 scale but it’s closer to 1/8 scale. And it’s extremely durable. My 13 year old has jumped and driven it pretty hard and no probs in the last 11 months. It’s a good truck.

Glad to hear it.

Sorry, I was thinking Xmaxx when I compared to Kraton, they are giant. But the Maxx is solid and a more manageable size.

Oh yes , the Xmaxx looks huge! And awesome! In my current search/decision for a new RC , I sometimes consider the Xmaxx and XRT. But I think I’d rather stick with 1/10 or 1/8 scale.

1/8 scale is clearly a favorite for durability. Would you say the bigger you go , the more durable an RC is? Example : would a 1/5 scale generally be more durable than a 1/8 scale? Or does it vary?
No, 1/5 scale rigs are 40-50 or more pounds. A brutal crash has all that weight compounding that potential damage. I havent broken anything on the Dirty30 (losi 5t clone) but, I have taken out a vinyl fence with a simple side swipe.

Haha , taken out a fence? I guess some carnage is to be expected in this hobby.

Just out of curiosity , you said you didn’t agree that Traxxas RC’s are durable. Who would you put above them? People say Tekno is the king of durability. But I feel like comparing Tekno to Traxxas is apples to oranges.

Why?
I'm curious why you see one brand different than another.
Admittedly , I have never owned a Tekno but they seem like they’d be the top tier of bashing vehicles. Aside from the fact that they come as a kit so you can pick any motor and electronics you wish , maybe the plastic and aluminum components are beefier and/or of a higher quality (?)

This is just my opinion. We’ve had great luck with our Traxxas vehicles. I’m a fan. But I’ve been told numerous times that in no reality can a ready to run compare with a kit. That phrase in particular has stuck with me.

Elle McPherson, Cindy Crawford, Christie Brinkley...

Oh wait...wrong thread :p

This feels like a broken record and this subject has been covered, multiple times in your original 700 page long thread. And now we're taking over someone else's thread. You have asked these questions and discussed this same stuff to death. You should have enough research done by now to know every part number of every RC ever made. Go buy something different, tinker with it, and get some hands on experience. Report back 😉

Absolutely. Also , would I get banned for foul language here in the forums?

I think they are more or less the same. They take our money so they owe us a quality RC in return.

Ok, exclude the Revo and Mini Maxx. They have little truck issues.

What do you recommend?
I can only speak for the mini maxx because I have one. Knowing through my own research, Traxxas isn't the name that comes to mind when I hear durable. Anything can break if you beat on it hard enough.
Recommendation depends on what the OP wants to do and budget.
