However, if you need distance the RadioLink owns it.

You can do you though. Not taking your reply as negative, but you might rethink about it if/when you run into issues with RL like I and several others here had.

Ideally any of the modern elrs radios will have the longest range than any other ordinary radio imho. My current flysky can go about 450 feet before the failsafe kicks in which is pretty good, but a elrs radio like the mt12 would be able to go much father.

Mt12 has a 3km plus range which translates to 9800 plus feet.
My old radiounlink stuff went about 60 feet before cutting out. They advertise them as what, 1000 feet? Yeah, no where near that tbh. Even if you put a range booster on it, it will never get close to 3km.

Of course, no judgement on my part either. Do what works for you, just sharing my experience.

I got the radio link for the speed car and it's been fine for 500m. I haven't tried the Flysky, but it would "probably" be OK too. There was a YT guy that did some testing on the radio range and Futaba and RadioLink performed the best for distance. So it was a no-brainer for me.

For the MT12 it's 3Km in a line of site under ideal conditions. It's like the car audio amps that claimed 500W. It was 500W... of noise.

Yea I don't wanna have or see users with a radiolink radio have drop out issues like what OP had. As they are dangerous and hazardous. If your radiolink radio is working fine, good for you, but if it isn't, that isn't good and I'd get rid of it asap. (Because essentially if your radio is bricked, it's bricked forever) something id like to point out and why it's so serious. I saw a dude with a radiolink radio with the virus, costed 2k plus worth of damages in his speed run car

@DavidB1126 you had a problem with radiolinks latest system, I understand that left a bad taste in your mouth. But that doesn't make all of their products bad. I have had no issues withmy RC6G, and it is a popular choice for a lot of speed runners because of it's range.

Kind of like everyone jumping on the I hate Traxxas bandwagon, when they still make good products. 🤔
