ok i really need some help i stored my buggy on a shelp fro quite a long time cause i busted it up and left the r/c for a lil while but i got back into it and just ordered some parts and fixed it. Now i have a problem with my servo/reciever or controler I'm not to good with the electronics but I'm thinking it maybe the reciever or maybe just a easy fix. So this is whats happening first off when i turn the sterring servo either way the throtle servo also moves not a whole lot but still evough to up the rpm's. The next problem is that the steering servo when i turn it one way its fine but i think when i turn it left it wants to go but then just jurks back and truns right i dont know whats wroong if its the servo(s) thats messed or is my reciever messed??? can i fix it or do i need new servo(s) or reciever?? and if i do need new servo(s) reciever do i need to buy ones specifically for my car like the kind on there now or can i get what i desire??

Thank you i really need some help

check ur batteries first, the ones in the car to, if there weak they will have a serious effect.also make sure the crystals are not damage . second make sure the ant is tight in the controller hope this helps.:doc:

Another thing. Re-center your servos.

1. Set your trims on your radio for BOTH the throttle and the steering to Zero 0

2. Turn on your transmitter

3. Turn on your vehicles receiver and servos

4. Unscrew BOTH servo horns for throttle and steering

5. Pull them off and put them back on so that your throttle is EXACTLY how you would like it when you turn it on (I set it up with a hair of slight braking - you can always adjust the trim a hair if you dont like it). Then set your steering so the wheels are straight as you can get them. Sometimes its not possible to have them dead center. Again, you can just adjust you trim a hair to fix that.

Once everything is re-centered give it a shot.

If your steering still does not work properly with new batteries in both the TX and RX, then you could have blown your centering pod in your servo.

ok I've alreafy tried all that stuff and it hasnt worked but you can check out my other thread (need servo help bad!!) i exsplained my probs better and also my trim does not work so thats whats makin me think my reciever maybe bad

To me, it sounds like the reciever is fine. If the reciever is dead, typically, the servos don't move. My first thought was charge up the hump pack or put in a new set of AA batteries. If you already did that, I'm at a loss.

Good Luck,
RobH

Have you tried switching the servos, one at a time? the throttle to the steering, and the steering to the throttle. If this does not help then the receiver is bad, if this does help one, but not the other; than one servo is bad etc.

ya i switched the servos when i plug the throtle servo into the steering port it does the same thing so if it is the reciever can i get any kind of reciever because i can't find a perfex reciever anywhere but its kind wierd cause theres only a Batt plug, throtle plug, and steering plug so ino its diff from others but will another one qwork on my buggy if i dont use one of the ports and use the same crystals that I'm using now

I think its the potentiometer in the TX if its not the RX side of things. If your trim isnt working at all on that channel then I would suspect the TX, not the RX.

nope trim doesn't work PERIODim sure i would prob bealbe to fix all this if it did work though so are pritty sure its the transmitter because i dont wanna spend a nice chunk of money on one if that isn the problem. And if i do need a new TX than what one do you suggest that is on the cheaper side and any will work with my RX with the same crystals correct??

Have you ever dropped your TX? if so, this can damage the crystals and make your servos twitch! shake your TX and see if you can hear anything like a small piece of plastic bouncing around in there, you may also want to check your crystal stems, they can also loosen up and cause what you descirbed!

ok i shook it around and i heard something moving so i took it apart and a a strip of copper fell out but i dont recall ever dropping it

well, good, thats a start!, did you find out where the strip of copper goes?,, may seem like a small thing but could be your whole problem!

whats a good TX on the cheaper side (under $100) and any would work with the RX right?? oh and ill prob order it from Tower

for $100 you could get a decent jrx2 tx with rcvr and servos, this would probibly be the best thing to get, you could replace all that stuff at once and eliminate your problem all together! I dont think you need a new TX but if you want to replace for about $100 this would be a great way to do it! If you want a jrx3, well thats more dough of course!! heres a pic of the one I had with my NTC3, Its a great radio for the coin! good luck!
