Thanks Rob. I'm hoping Joe can't better mine so I can gain on him, I think he's still 2 points ahead.

6.6-6.9 is where I am at on average.

For an average, that's where I'm at. I usually don't have a problem staying under 6.9.

Fast lap so far is 6.18.

:OMG: I can't touch that.

Fuel is going to be an issue with the speed. I don't think I can make it on 3 pit stops like the other guys have been.

No way, I have to do 4. The question is how many tire changes. I've been trying just one but it gets tough to drive on bad tires.

Looks like Lloyd is done at 125 laps. Nice job Lloyd.

That was a good run

The 6.18 was a fluke. I have not been able to even come close to it again. 6.4 and some change is the closest I have been able to come since.

16 minutes is on the bubble for me with tire changes. I can make it the entire race without a tire change, but at about the 12 minute mark I am really working hard go keep it in a straight line.

I ran my last run without a tire change but it was pulling to the right real bad. But I had already messed up a pit so I wasn't gonna mess with it.

It's a tough call. A tire change can cost you 3 laps on the track.

I have to make 4 stops and I change the tires on every stop! I tried making a stop without the tire change and about half way through the next run it's a pita to drive.

You DNF'd your last race????

What happened?

What happened on your last run Pete?

Damn that sucks. doesn't that give you a 0 for this week?

He gets last place points unless somebody else gets a DNF. In that case it goes to the last completed run to determine who will get last.

My second run 2. Run July 15, 2010 [12:44] 125 Laps 16:02.0and I got hacked several times.

Great run! No tire change either.

Are you going to roll the dice or hold?

Well I did an idiot thing.

Lately I've been having what seems like radio interference at random times while racing. So I've been trying to figure out why and I may have figured it out. Over the 4th weekend my rechargeable batteries were dead when I unexpectedly found some time to put my run in,so I swapped in some alkalines. A couple of days later I decided to do some practice and remembered my dead batteries. So I hooked up the charger and charged them. The only problem here(you probably know where I'm going)I forgot I put the alks in so I was charging those instead.
The charge cycle seemed to go as normal and voltage increased to 11.7 so I used them until they died. That's about when the problems began. When I put my rechargeable batteries in,I found a white powder/dust all over the battery compartment. I cleaned it a little, swapped batteries, charged them up and started running.
It still has problems with loss of signal,is it possible that something else in the transmitter got damaged? Or maybe just the battery tray?

Are all the contacts in the battery tray clean?

What transmitter do you use for VRC?

What transmitter do you use for VRC?

It's an Associated XP3D, FM 27mhz and it is computerized with EPA's,ARC and Sub Trims.
I think I may have found it,I'm going to make a practice run in few minutes. it appears that the contacts were not clean enough. 2 of the rechargeable batteries looked like they were not contacting well and have a deposit on the them. I sanded them off, pulled the tray and soaked it in baking soda/water then washed with hot water and scrubbed with a wire brush. We shall see :)

EDIT: Nope, that wasn't it. Problem is still present.

Round 6 - Oslo

After the closest finish of the season last week, this week is whole different story. Losing by a split second last week, this week Racer 1966 comes back with a vengeance! Taking more than a 1/2 second lead on the first lap and another full second on the lap 2,this was Racer 1966's race all the way. robmob ran a great race but somehow Racer 1966 was able to find more speed on the slick track conditions. The only thing keeping it from being a complete blowout was the fact that Racer 1966 had to make one pit stop. robmob and all the other racers were able to complete the race without stopping.

While robmob maintains second place, behind him SMaxxin and slowngreen battle it out for the 3rd place on the podium. SMaxxin ran hard but dropped back at the end and manages to stay ahead of slowngreen to take the 3rd place finish this week.

NCNitro was the final entrant this week with abadk9420 being a no-show for the race. NCNitro ran several fast laps but couldn't keep pace. As we get deeper in the season,I'm sure we'll be seeing some great runs from him.

In the points,Racer 1966 shuffles his way back on top. Adding the fastest lap bonus with the win puts him 1 point ahead of robmob. NCNitro still hangs on the 3rd while slowngreen and SMaxxin edge closer, down only 2 & 3 points respectively. Missing the race drops abadk9420 to the bottom to finish off this week.

Next week we once again head back to the oval at R/C speedway. The newest VRC racer,darkslayor24, has said he will run this race. It will be interesting to see how he can do in his first race in competition.

The green flag is flying - the Race is On!

from what i have found, some rechargeable AA's are alittle shorter than normal. when you put the non-rechargeables in the battery connector tabs might have bent back (thats what they do for me) and now your shorter rechargeables are not contacting all the way. bend the tabs out alittle and see if that does anything

Just run it Randy, if it quits it quits :hehe: I have to run with a handicap every week too....

My driving!
