6.7! Holy crap! Even with traffic you should be running 6.9s then. Wow. This is gonna be a tough race. I'm having trouble even finding consistant 6.9s. I'll have to rely on fast pitstops in order to keep up. At this point in the week I don't think I'm going to try a brand new setup because honestly I think that's what I need to break into sub 6.9s. I think it has a lot to do with my steering angle and to fix that will throw my entire setup out the window. I have my Tx battery charging now because it went capoot last night right after I decided to put down my 2nd run. I'll probably do one more "happy hour" when my batteries are done and then put down one more run. I should certainly be able to beat my current time, but unless I totally change my setup I won't be able to do much better so my next run will more than likely be my race for the weekend.

That's what I'm thinking Randy. I can't touch 6.7 seconds. Not even close. Good thing we come to Speedway so many times in the season. I have some work to do to get my car to that level.

This f***ing sucks! I made 2 attempts today. On my first attempt, I came in for my first pitstop. Overshot by a touch. So I hit <space> to marshall it back into the box. Well, the car died before it got to the yellow circle. So I'm pounding <F> to try to get it fueled. Suddenly the car disappears and I see the car's shadow moving slowly across the sidewalk. Never saw the car again. WTF???

Second run. Steaming. Running good times. Only a couple traffic laps. Pits are going conservative, and just ok. But I'm happy with my pace. With 2 minutes to go, some butthead rings my doorbell. I'm home alone. The dog starts barking her ass off. And the last 2 minutes of my race go to hell. Just look at my times after my last pitstop. Thanks to some douchebag selling magazines I just poop the bed. I might just go run his ass over with my car...

Yup. The last 2 minutes screwed me royally. All because of that tool at the door. I'm going to have to relax a while before I throw down #3. It's a bit risky because I am pretty sure I can do better, but one slip and I lose a sure 2nd place.

I absolutely hate oval.

It's just not fun for me.

Cat jumped up in front of the screen in my first attempt so that was my bad for not locking his ass out.

Second attempt sucked ass right from the start and it did not get better. Had it been a practice, I would have stopped after 5 laps.

Bullshit!

I started the third and final run and a message gets put on the screen that states something about the connection to the server being lost. It would not go away so I hit esc and it states the run would not count since there was no connection to the server. I close the window and go on to the club and I got a DNF on the 3rd run.

I'm pissed off and frustrated with this poop.

The rest of you guys are guaranteed 3rd and 4th.

I have been !#$@ed.

That sucks Rob. I can sympathize because a glitch screwed my first run. Perhaps we'll have to have a meeting to decide what to do when things like this happen.

It happened in to me in the pre-season as well. The problem is once you get the notice it never goes away on the screen. Kinda tough to race when there is a notice the size of this quick reply message box I am currently typing in on the screen.

That sucks man. All the more reason to make every run count. At least you got a decent run in. As is real racing some things are totally out of our control. Jeff can attest to that too.

Bah!

Time to work on getting a feel for the next track.

It's the connection.

I live on the outskirts of the city of Napa in a small valley within a valley. On occasion, the power, cable and phone service will hiccup for no reason. DSL connection is by far the worst though. At least once a week it will go out for a couple of hours. Crapcast cable internet is no better in my area either.

If you are on cable then you would probably have the most luck of getting your runs in w/o connection issues if you run late at night or early in the morning when less people are watching t.v. That is unles my presumption of the way cable works. I'm having issues with my cable right now and it's definitely less of a problem early in the morning than the middle of the day. For instance... I recorded F1 qualifying yesterday morning and it was fine when I played it back. However when I went to watch SpeedTV live in the afternoon I got zero signal at all, black screen.

I finally got 1 run in, 99 laps. If it wasn't so late I'd go try again because I had a few major screw ups I think I could eliminate. Not sure if I could catch you though Rob. Oh well, it's too late for me anyways.

99 laps isn't horrible. You'll find that this whole thing is an experience game. The more you run, the better you feel. The more you learn. And the nicer your runs look. I'm still shoddy in a number of areas. But I'm feeling better on the road courses and have more confidence in how I set the car. The oval has been a strong point for me. I've found a setup I like. I just got hosed by some stupidity when I ran Saturday.
So just keep with it. Take your time. Practice when you can. Always remember a few things, especially on the road courses. Slow is fast. And at first aim for the middle of the lanes. Your first priority should be keeping out of trouble. You'd be amazed at how fast that makes you over the whole race. I can knock out fast laps. But then I'm usually mowing the Buckwheat the next lap. So just relax....

I'm surprised you didn't give it another go Jeff. You're laptimes through the majority of race smoked me. Matter of fact, I think you led the entire race until lap 108 I think. I'm working an earlier shift right now so it won't be until later this evening when put the timesheet together.

Well, the new "last run counts" rule has me 2nd guessing a lot of things. So I'm still working through that. If I pieced together a consistent 15 mins, I might have come close to 120. But I also know that 1 or 2 significant offs and I would have been dead meat. So I'm still fighting the psychology of it.
