So....do you slow down to conserve fuel, or do you go ahead and run flat out and pit knowing it will cost you laps.

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

It may boil down to who can can in and out of the pit clean.

Obviously I'm getting off the throttle way to much because I run 4 minutes without refueling easily

That may be the ticket to win this 4 minute race.

If you don't have to pit, then you don't risk getting hung up in the pit area and loosing time. Even a quick clean pit stop will cost almost 2 laps on the track at Speedway.

When I am in the groove, I only have to tap the brakes entering the turn after the Start/Finish line. After the tap, I ease on the throttle until I am about half way around the turn and then I am WOT all the way around until I come to the line again.

I this I have the set up for speedway pretty close, my fastest lap is 6.736 so the car can get around the track pretty fast, now if I can learn to stay focuses for the whole race I'll be ok. BTW I just ran 4:53 without refueling. I wish I had got into this when you guys first started it...what a blast!

Damn! Already running 6.7s, this is gonna get competative quick! Nice job Pete!

Yea that sounds good but what I failed to mention are the ones that are over 12 seconds, the turn marshal and I are getting pretty tight :hehe:

wait till an ai car punts you all the way out in to the parking lot :hehe: or they hack ya as you are coming out of the pits. Sometimes those damn ai hack cars can really piss ya off, but Rob seems to have them programmed for a pretty decent speed.

I was just thinking that I didn't even really notice the ai cars when I first started but now that I am getting up to speed they are always in the way! BTW my run time on one tank has dropped to 4:23, apparently being on the roof was saving fuel LOL

The last thing you want to do is run out of fuel.

First you have to get marshaled in and then the refueling takes forever since they simulate the time it takes to restart the car. Easily 30-40 seconds are pissed away. Needless to say, if you run out of fuel on Speedway, you have lost any chance of making the podium.

I hate when the car does the disappearing act when you try and pit, or it just sits in the air twitching. That's one reason I was happy to see Rob go back to the three tries at the run again.

I was wondering if that happen to everyone or if I was doing something wrong, but yea it sucks!

What's really nice is when you drop from refueling and hit the gas only to run into an AI just sitting off the screen ahead of you dead stopped in the pit lane.

What's up with dat?

I'm anxious to see alien and SNG get in here,I'm not holding my breath for Rolex.

My car has slowed down for some reason. 6.8's at best right now.

I can't make 4 minutes without fueling though. A good clean stop for me is around 15sec. But I can't stay clean very often.

I'm going to play with the setup some and see what happens.

I think I'll be ok on the speedway but I'm going to have to practice pit stops for Sydney. I have never actually pulled into the pits, I always just ran out of fuel.

I got the speed back and put a couple of runs in on the speedway. I couldn't stay clean the whole run though and lost a couple of laps :( I really got hacked coming out of the pits on the second run. I may try a third run tomorrow after charging the batts again.

I just ran my second attempt on speedway and ran out of fuel on the my last lap just as I entered the front strech...I tried to coast to the finish line but came up short LOL Now I really need to practice my pit stops!

EDIT: I have been trying to pit but I can't, when I pull into the pits and hit the button to refuel nothing happens...What am I missing?
