Is this going to be based on a schedule? Because I'm usually unable to stick to schedules. Too much crap going on. I'd like to sign up, but I'm probably going to miss alot of races.

When each race starts you will have a whole week open to get in your run/s. Surely you can find a time during a WEEK to race.

There will be points for each race finish position, but no cash/prizes so really it's only for fun and bragging rights. By all means I recommend you join and race when you can,you just may find it addicting like anything else r/c.

That I can do. I was thinking it was something where everybody had to be on at the same time. So yea, count me in.

Got one run in.

I didn't bother to practice at all. I just used the car from last season and went at it. Ran out of fuel before my 4 minute pit mark which set the tone for the rest of the race where I hacked my way around the track.

AI's seem to be about equal in speed around the track with what I am doing when I get around the track clean.

I wish I had never touched those GT's.

2nd attempt is in. A little better than the first. Got the fuel thing ironed out and ran a consistent 3/4's or a race. Kinda fell apart the last 3 minutes after my last pit stop. For some reason, on of the AI's was dead stopped on pit row right before you enter the track. I did not see him until it was too late.

Woodie is hooking me up with a copy of VRC and I just won a usb adapter so I will give it a try this year...Take it easy on me!

Wow, I just looked into this. Its only $85? I thought it was like $200 for some reason. Thats not so bad. Maybe after I get my own personal new computer after graduation I'll pick up a copy and start the winning.

Ok, so I just threw 2 runs down, no practice today either. The first one was ok, but I should have got tires on the second pit stop, after that I had a hell of a time keeping it off the boards. I may have beaten ya Rob on my second run until an ai car punted me out in to the parling lot, as he was exiting the pits, lol. I still have a lot of work to do to get my car to where I want it, but I think I am on the right track. I can only get to about 3:40 before running out of fuel.

I'm with ya too, wish I had never bothered with those gt cars.

Thats awesome Pete, glad to have ya racing with us, you too Alien. I'm really looking forward to this season!

Great!

You can hooked up cheaper than that. The game disc is still available for under $20 shipped on eBay. The USB adapters are currently out of stock at VRC but pop up on eBay also. If they get some more in,the basic adapter is only $10 through VRC.

I put in a second run. I opted to try to go the whole race with no tire change this time and it got really crazy toward the end. I agree the AI car speed is about right. I have to chase some of them a couple of laps before I can get around them.

True True, but I don't have a radio that will work with that. Other than the DX6I thats in the mail right now.

Speedway Trial Run Results 5/2/10

1. Racer 1966: 92 Laps
2. robmob: 91 Laps
3. NCNitro: 90 Laps

Fastest Lap: Racer 1966 - 6.656 seconds

We are going to be running continuous warm-up races every week until the season starts. A road course race and an oval race running at the same time.

Season is set to begin on 5/30/10 which is Memorial Day weekend.

This should give plenty of time for anybody who wants to participate to get the software, adapter and get a few practice runs in.

I'll give a Traxxas TQ and an rx for shipping cost if you'll run :D

Damn! Look at Randy on the oval :whhooo:. I have some serious work ahead of me getting dialed in.

Get busy Slacker! :hehe:

Two copies of VRC has just been purchased for members, awaiting two more members addresses so I can purchase them a copy as well... as of right now I'm all out of VRC CD's pending the last two addresses.

Your the man Woodie!

My rx shipped yesterday and got an email today saying my adapter shipped from VRC.

I hope so Randy, if I can get it all figured out then I will, thats why I got rid of it all last time I had it was because I was confused all the time and didnt ask for help, I'll ask this time though.

Ok, I am doing a little practice for this weeks test session at Kakegewa, I kinda like this track. However, in a few of the turns I am a bit tight and it just doesn't want to seem to turn in to the corner. I haven't had much luck finding something to help it turn in a little better without having to get off the gas too early, or braking hard. Any suggestions?

First thing I would do is throw an AI or 2 on the track and watch how they attack the turns and at what speed.

Being tight in the turns may not always be the best way to take it.

No, it's not that I want to be tight in the turn, it's that the car doesn't want to turn without running off the track completely. But thats a good suggestion about the ai car, I will give that a try.
