Anyone know where I can get the software reasonable? I would like to get in on the racing this year.

Start with Ebay. I don't remember if there are huge discounts floating around there, but I remember getting my V3 with a USB adapter for somewhere around $110 I think. Prices should be better now since I got mine over a year ago.

Wow. Just looking on Ebay right now and there are people selling the V3 discs for like $15 + shipping. That's dirt cheap. I suppose they realize that the program is old and about to be replaced. Can't beat that deal...

Race weeks will begin at 3:30am Mon. and end at 3:00am Mon. EST the following week (Date shown is for the Sunday -last complete 24 hour day of the race week)

• All Races shall consist of 1 heat with 3 attempts
• A drivers final attempt shall be their official time for each race

Someone needs to come give me competition for the rookie award!

So you got Candyman to do the spray this year?

Yes, Jeff will be doing the bodies for the '09 season awards. I'm attempting to "one up" the '08 season so any little thing I can do to make our club a little better I will attempt it. Last year was the kickoff and I took on everything. Unfortunately, painting can be difficult for me as I find it hard to find both the time and the "zone" to sit down and work on it. I asked Candyman if he would be willing to help out the club and he accepted.

Also, you will notice that the award bodies are slimmed to only 4 categories instead of 5. There will not be a "most improved" award this season. However, winners of bodies will have their choice of what type of body they will receive. Also, the GC payouts are different this year as well. First place through third is the same but fourth will only be $1 instead of two and I'm adding a $1 award for the fifth place driver.

Last year we had 3 full time drivers and a couple guys who ran more than half the schedule. At this time I'm expecting at least 5 full time drivers and hopefully at least one more. I think the competition will be much closer this year as well as more abundant. I fully expect to not run away with the win every week. I think Candyman will really step it up and I certainly dont' rule out Robmob as he has real life racing experience to lend him a hand. He was looking like he was getting much more comfortable with his car throughout last season. IMO, Jeff is the frontrunner at RC Speedway as he always runs faster laps than I manage to be able to. It's going to be a really good season I believe.

FYI- I'm considering using a different point system as we used last year. I need to look at it a little closer still though.

Damn. All this talk has me getting stoked. I haven't run VRC in months but I think it's time to start kicking the rust off. There are some tall orders in the league this season. Lessen has always had a good touch on the road courses, but Rob and I both started to groove near the end of the season and made Josh nervous. I'm hoping we'll all pick up right at the beginning of the season and make it interesting. Still have a lot to learn about setup. But I'm getting there. I'm hoping there are more members running this season. It really makes it interesting when there are a lot of times to compete against.

Too bad, when you start as far back as I will, it's easy to look like the most improved!

I got the software installed on my Vista 64bit computer. Had to download and install the update and then update the whole thing again using the automatic updater, but it seems to be working just fine.

I am looking forward to the season.
