I was looking at the Durango dex408t but was turned away when I couldn't find an e-conversion kit. What did you use on your dex408?

^^ I wish I would have seen that before. I probably would have went with the DNX408T.

I just wrapped up the body. This is one of my favorite parts about this truck. What do you guys think?

Recieved my Tekin system today and got everything installed. I was surprised, and a little dissapointed that the esc requires the soldering of the wires directly onto the terminals, I am used to using bullet connectors which I think gives a nice clean look, but thats just me, I am very picky. :hehe: Other than that, I have yet to try it out somewhere other than the living room, but so far I am impressed. It is indeed very smooth and very easy to program as well.

My soldering is not very pretty, but it does the job.

heres a tip on timing the smaller of a window you use the more of a "boost" it seems to provide. Theres a post I read on rctech i believe that explains why. i'm sure someone like gw can explain more.

I'm not much of a racer so timing is something I dont know a lot about past the very basics of it. If you run across that thread I would be interested in reading it though.

As for soldering the wires to the RX8, here is a video that has a nice little trick for soldering the wires to the posts and makes it easy and makes it look good too.

well i think you have had it long enough to give us your first impressions of your tekin hardware. I always like hearing others opinoins... please let us know how you like it.

I would be driving it right now if it wasn't so dang cold out. We have just barley been getting over 0 degrees the past couple days and I haven't had time to make it to the track. But believe me, I am very anxious to try this thing out.

Ahh... sorry being so far south for so many years I've forgotten what winter even looks like.. lol. Well I dont mean to rush ya, I will keep an eye on this thread for when that day arrives :).

I know that feeling .... it was 81 and sunny here today!

Very nice, Like the lid alot!

I'm not sure if you know but pick up some liquid rosin flux, dab a little on each solder joint and then hit it with and iron. Your solder will pool nicely exactly where it needs to go and then wipe off with some alcohol. Makes for pretty joints and easier soldering :)

Also you can get some shrink tube big enough to bend over your cable/post and shrink it down, It will also look nice.

I Didnt catch the fact that this was the RC8T and not the RC8....My bad...You ideally needed the 1700kv for the truggy...the 1900kv is more suited for buggies, not that you can't use one in a truggy. I feel really bad Mud....IDK why I never noticed that until Someone pointed it out. For some reason I had it in my head you had the buggy :( I'm sorry bro. I screwed the pooch on this one... I mean theres not a huge difference between the 2 motors but the 1700kv is tailored just a little bit more to truggies than the 1900kv.
