Okay I'm almost at my goal of dumping RC stuff to fund the new stuff....I have pretty much set Nitro to the side until I have more time (it's really just the cleanup after running that takes extra time)....I am wanting to get an Electric Truggy, really looking at the RC8Te....My question is CAN you make it use reverse as well? I see they have a break mechanism like the nitro truggy but that would (I think it would) need to use a channel mixing feature...If I use that can I still set it up to give me some reverse? I have a 3pk and haven't played with all the mixing stuff yet.....anyone know if this is possible? it would be appreciated help....
Thanks much

Reverse is easy for electrics...if your ESC Supports it BAM you have it ;-) Only the Throttle channel is needed. Pushing the throttle forward does 2 things typically. 1. Applies brake if the rig is moving. 2. If the rig is not moving...it fires up reverse.

This is of course if you are NOT using mechanical brakes (ie a second brake servo). If you are using the brakes from the motor...you're fine. mechanical...no go on reverse.

I suppose you might be able to do some channel mixing, but you would need to bypass the brakes entirely to get it to work.

Yeah I'm using the ESC to brake my current rig (up for sale anyone :D shameless plug)....and I'm sure that plays with the issues of heating the electronics up faster...I was thinking like if the radio can use channel mixxing for some real fancy pants kind of stuff like 0 - 50% of reverse controls the mechanical brake and then 50 - 100% of reverse channel goes back to controlling the ESC and a limited reverse function....I'm asking for the world but that is why I'm doing this with mini trucks instead of 1:1....so I can dream big....I'm just getting lazier and want a rig I won't need to go pull off a tree or a garbage bag I ran into....

If anyone knows of another radio that may handle this feature please throw in....

If you must have reverse....just don't use the mechanical brakes ;-) Pretty simple. hehe I'm sure you can probably rig something up.....but I have no idea what. lol
