Ok, heres the deal, I have officially burned through 2 sets of tires in two days on my BL rc18b. Running a 3s lipo, with a 5400 Kv castle sidewinder motor/ESC setup. I went through the stock tires in about 30 min. I have gone through some some losi on-road tires in about 2 hours. What do yall think about going with the 1/10scale wheel adapters?

Have you tried Parma foam tires?

If you go to the 1/10th scale adapters, you are going to find the rig to be narrower than using standard 1/18th tires due to the offset. You will have to get used to roll overs.

i tried a rig with foams on em, they started shredding, like falling off in chunks. Is it that much more narrow? And if its that bad, what would you recomend for like grass, dirt and street, that will last more than an hour.

Do you really need to go 54mph? What if you just took out the 3s lipo and went 2s?

Are you going through tires because you're running on pavement? right now, I run my mini off-roads on pavement just about 100% of the time so I made slicks out of my stock RC18t tires (recently did it to my ZX-5 as well). I imagine that's what your's are beginning to look like. I just scraped all the studs off of the tires so that's it's slick all the way around. The handling is more predictable than studded off-road tires and much more fun as opposed to foams IMO. But if your going through them from running off-road you should probably try a tire that will be more resiliant to wear. Something with a larger wider tread pattern as opposed to pins.

I haven't clocked my RC18T, but I'm sure its well over 40mph...

My Proline Roadrage tires still look new, I've ran about 4-5 cycles of my 2s 1500mah lipo very hard too. I strongly recommend them, as well as you set up your esc so that you aren't applying full throttle on takeoff, which is where you are doing the most damage to your tires. Also set up your brake right, on my transmitter I have ABS, yeah...it pulsates to keep the wheels from locking up which is perfect for the tires on my truck.

My experience with them was with 10th scale on-road tires and I spent more time on my lid than actually driving around the track. It was just too narrow to carry the speed into the corners.

Other types of 10th scale tires may work better.

Just keep in mind that with the increased rotating mass, as well as wheel diameter, you are putting more stress on your driveline as well as changing the overall gear ratio of the vehicle. Be careful how extreme you go...If you're on pavement seriously go with 1/18th scale proline roadrage.

Per the advice of the local 1/18th guru, I did not install wheel adapters. He told me he would gladly throw in diff rebuilds if I did, because I would be needing them frequently. Now because I didn't take the risk to find out, I can't say exactly how well the mip diffs will hold up with larger wheels/tires.

Ahhh, so what if i just use a regular onroad tire? It wouldnt be much more weight, and I'm willing to take the chance of it being unstable. Would the larger diameter mess with my tranny?

I should also add that my 18T is running MIP Super Diffs and CVD's so I did not have a problem with them while using 10th scale tires.

i have pinion gears in 14, 11, and 12 tooth setups, and i have a 55 tooth spur gear. which one should i use?
