whats are some of the main differences between a 74.1 & 74.2

is the .2 that much better than the .1?

12mm vs 13mm shocks. Look on associateds website to get the full update list. The .2 has minor upgrades and adjustments to the .1

Not sure how much better the .2 is from the .1. the .2 came out back in October I think so it's still new.
B74.1D Team Kit
Center differential with 72T and 78T spur gears and 200,000 cSt silicone fluid
Includes 1.2mm and 1.3mm anti-roll bars front and rear for dirt
5.0mm rear hex adapters for wide stance with dirt tires
Includes updated kit setup with V2 spring package of Yellow front and Blue rear springs
Includes shorter 23mm front and 27.5mm V2 Big Bore threaded aluminum shocks with 12mm machined pistons and X-rings for lower CG, reduced weight, and improved performance
Redesigned 4mm graphite front shock tower lowered by 2mm with an additional row of tuning holes
Redesigned 4mm graphite rear shock tower lowered by 5.5mm for maximum stability and predictability
+3mm aluminum steering rack for optimized bump steer at low ride heights
66mm rear CVA driveshafts and axles for more on-power traction and a more predictable driving feel
Redesigned molded ESC tray for quick electronics removal for cleaning
Redesigned molded 30mm fan mount and hardware (fan not included)

B74.2D Features:
  • Lightweight molded gearboxes both front and rear
  • Two fixed height front gearboxes allowing for +0 and +2mm differential height options
  • One rear gearbox with RC10B6-style inserts allowing 0, +1, +2, and +3mm differential height options
  • 13mm big-bore threaded aluminum shocks and springs with machined shock pistons for improved bump and jump handling
  • Gull wing front suspension arms and mating shock tower for a lower center of gravity and better steering predictability
  • LTC differential gear sets are included. That reduces binding under power, giving a more predictable power delivery
  • The battery hold-down system uses inserts to adjust weight bias. O-ring style battery strap with pull tabs
  • Larger 3.5mm turnbuckles with updated rod end style ballcups to increase durability and reduce bind in the suspension
  • Center bulkhead fan mount that mounts the fan above the motor for better cooling performance
  • -2mm wing mounts for use with slicks and low-profile carpet tires to further lower the center of gravity
  • +3mm aluminum steering rack for optimized bump steer at low ride heights
  • 66mm Rear CVA drive shafts and axles for more on-power traction and a more predictable driving feel
  • Center differential with 72T and 78T spur gear and 200,000 CST silicone differential fluid

I watch these reviews alot by RazorRC he races on carpet tho. Here is his .1 and .2 reviews for carpet.
I have the B74.1D myself. I can't tell you how it is compared to the .2D or anything else since I only ran it at the track once with electronics from my basher. Next time I can go down to the track is in March due to my schedule. With the B74.1D build, it went ok. it was my first kit and 4wd car so I ran into some problems but I fixed them. Had my uncle solder up my motor wires which btw I am using a Hobbywing XR10 Pro 160A with a Hobbywing V10 G4 13.5 motor. As Razor RC mentioned the B74.1 is a little heavier than other cars so since I am doing stock 13.5 I am planning to get ceramic bearings.

Some other stuff I am running in my .1 is:
Xpert 4000 series servo
Radiolink rx/tx (budget radio from my bashers, planning on Futaba 4pm or Sanwa M17 down the road)
ProTek alum motor fan
Jconcepts Ellipse Silvers both front and rear
Here is my .1D with my electronics from my rustler.

Here is a guy that races at my local indoor clay track.
